Rediscover… the simple riches of life, when a blackberry
was something you picked with Grandma and made into jam, the spot
where your Grandfather taught you to fish, the taste of a cool watermelon,

headed for some distant land...a place where neighbors don't have to knock.

STEEPED IN HISTORY: This property, formerly known as Hurricane
Creek Stockade, was a Union camp set-up to protect the railroad from
Confederate guerrila troops. Supplies for the Northern aggression came
via the Tennessee River to New Johnsonville, then by rail to Nashville.
This property protected Section 54 of the Nashville Northwestern railway
and was a hub of activity for 1000's of Union solders.
Locals can still recall the stories passed to them by their parents of near-by
skirmishes, plagues, derailed trains, desertion and even the occasional ghost
story. Recent archeological research has found many earthworks including
rifle pits, cannon mounds, winter huts (campsites), cistern wells as well as
many artifacts.
