Prez Sez October
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to everyone who participated in making our 25th Annual BSCC All
Corvette show a success. It takes everyone working for weeks and some for months to pull it off, but we did.
The parking lot was full of beautiful shining cars waiting to be judged and everyone was enjoying the
perfect day we were given. We had a whole bunch of Hog Riders there for the Harley experience and the bike
auction and we had at least that many Corvette people there to have a good time too. We even had a few
Hooters girls to make the day even nicer. They brought us wings and sold tickets and took pictures with owners.
You can thank Ken Turner in person for this one. No telling how many times he had to go to Hooters to talk up
the show to get them to donate all they did. Thank you Ken for that sacrifice.
I would like to see us go to Hooters for one of their Sunday Cruise In, as a club in our club or show shirts
and order up a storm and thank them again for all they donated and show club support. We had many area
sponsors that we all need to say a great big thank you too by patronizing their businesses.
Our Friday night ditty bag stuffing party was a huge success with enough stuff to fill 100 bags full of
goodies for everyone to take home. It was like a grown up Halloween bag for the adults to go home and go thru
and marvel at all the stuff they got, from t shirts, to cups, car cleaner, flashlights, water bottles, pens, koozies,
rice, tabasco, candy, pens and pads and on and on and on. I don’t think anyone thought there could be that
much stuff in a bag. Thanks to all who took the time to contact vendors and collect all of this to help with the
show. Thank you to Scotty Quebodeaux who once again managed to cook us a great meal.
Last month nominations for 2015 club officers were made. This meeting is the election. Although most of
us have had our fill of hearing campaign speeches and terrible ads, we are lucky in that the officers that are
nominated for the 2015 year are running unopposed so we really don’t have to have ballots, but will ask each
person nominated to accept the position and agree to work for the good of the club in the future. Nominations

During the show, we picked up 3 new members, Drew and Penny Ford, Dr. Keith Colomb and Jimmy and
Cecelia Cormier. We want to welcome them to the club.This meeting we will be voting on raising our dues from
$24 to $30 per year. The dues have been $24 for the last 25 years and like most things in life, things get
expensive. We will ask members present to vote on raising the amount to $30.
Our Christmas party will be held Saturday, Dec 6th. The invitation was emailed and is in this newsletter.
We need RSVP by Nov 23 so we can give this head count to the caterer, so please call or email to let us
know if you plan on coming. Hopefully John and Kris Newman from New Hope will be there so we can
present them with their check from the club.

Meeting Minutes
October 9, 2014
Members in attendance were Thad & Jodie LeJeune, Tom & Vicki Diermann, Rick & Bettie Louviere, Louis & Julia
Broussard, Darryl Dodd, Ken & Julie Turner, Don Everette, James Youens, Jack Wise, Terry Orgeron, Brent Seaux.
Special Guest was Kris Newman from New Hope.
Vice President Tom Diermann filled in for President Maxie Rodriguez. Tom Diermann called the meeting to order.
Meeting started officially at 7:03.
Introduction of members/guests was conducted and concluded.
There was no Old News to discuss.

Fezzo’s in Scott was the choice for dinner after the meeting.
Events were discussed that were coming up for the month of October such as the ride to Washington Louisiana for the
Fall Antique Schoolhouse Fair/Corvette Display downtown Washington on Saturday, the 11th. Also, the Greater New
Orleans Extravetteganza Corvette Show in Slidell on Saturday, the 18th. Special Guest Kris Newman of New Hope
Fellowship spoke to the members about how tutoring was available by UL students at the JC James Center in Lafayette.
She also mentioned projects and activities such as the garden planted by Louis Broussard. She thanked Bayou State
Corvette Club for our support in their program.
Don Everette confirmed that TV3 KATC is not going to air our show advertising in the mornings before our Corvette
show on the 25th. He wasn’t sure that TV10 will commit to doing so either. Louis Broussard suggested that show
banners and show flyers would be given to area businesses forthem to post our show. Flyers have been posted and
since it’s too late to have large banners printed for this year’s show, it was suggested that we have them made earlier
for next year.
Cajun Harley Davidson in Scott is having an auction on the same day as our show but it should not affect our show.

Raffle Tickets were mediocre sales…was hoping more were sold at this point. Urged everyone to sell in order to
increase donation to New Hope.
Urged members to purchase door prizes for male and female. Ken Turner has picked up MANY door prizes and
ditty bag items from several businesses around the area and was highly commended for his dedication.
Service Chevrolet provided the bags for the ditty bags.
Ditty Bag party is scheduled for Friday evening, October 24th, the night before our show at 5pm. Scotty
Quebodeaux is cooking. Everyone is invited to attend.

For Sale
I am attaching photos of my 96 Collector’s Edition from last car show– this was the car that I drove to all the shows. I
was going to go ahead and sell it because don’t think I would ever be able to go to a car show again without Cyrus. I
would like it to go to a “Vette” person that would keep it up and appreciate it. I have no clue how to go about selling
or pricing. I know he has collector’s insurance on it through the Corvette Museum for $25,000, but I know that would
not be the right price. I think he paid around $19,000 for some years back. It has right under 13,000 miles on it.
Your advice on how to begin would greatly be appreciated.
