November through February meetings are held once a month on the first Thursday of each month. Meeting dates might be changed depending on holidays. All meetings are held at the YR Club on Rt. 611 in Easton except during the months of May through September, when the first meeting of the month will be held outdoors at Hackett Park weather permitting. All meetings start at 7:30 PM and are subject to change depending on weather conditions. To find out the status of a meeting, check email prior to the meeting. Hello Easton Area Corvette Club members and friends. Well I took the big step this past week end. Cleaned both Vettes then connected them to new battery tenders and covered them both up for the winter. I will visit them though the cold months for some cleaning and to start them just to hear that great Corvette sound. Some of you might be holding out a bit longer before putting yours away for some nice driving weather. Good luck with that. A quick reminder about renewing your membership for 2016. I know some of you have already renewed and I thank you for doing that. Renewals are being accepted now through the middle of January. Don’t let the deadline slip away. Our first meeting at the new location (Nicolosi’s) was well attended and many of you came early to eat some good food. I know that the Nicolosi’s folks were happy with our business so let’s keep it up. I did hear however some folks had a hard time hearing in the back so I will be sure to speak up along with the other officers. Our next meeting will be on the 3rd of December @ 7:30PM. Coming up this month is our annual Christmas Party at Kingfish Bistro, 3833 Freemansburg Ave., Bethlehem (Township). I understand we have a pretty good turnout with just under 50 people attending. We also have the Festival of Trees at our club sponsor, Rossi Chevrolet, Buick, GMC coming up on the 10 th of December. That means decorating the EACC sponsored tree will take place on either the 7th, 8th or 9th. An email with the time and place to meet will go out as soon as we determine what date will work best. It is a fun time for a great cause. We will discuss at the meeting. Once again for those members that did not attend the meeting on November 19th the meetings are held at Nicolosi’s Pizzeria in the Park Plaza Shopping Center on Sullivan Trail, Forks Township. Come on out and give it try. In closing, myself and the other officers of the club are wishing everyone a very Healthy and Happy Holiday Season. Be safe out there and we will see you next year! The Cruise and Show Season is just over for 2015. Any club events will be posted by email to the club membership For years and years I have always wanted to own ‘American Favorite Sports Car.’ Finally, the year was 1999, what a year. Since I was promoted to Lt. Colonel in the Air National Guard, I decided to ‘reward’ myself with a Corvette. Hence I began my search for a 1986 with manual transmission, less than 50k miles, and ‘red’ in color. Although the internet was relatively new, and slow this ‘dial up,’ I found a maroon metallic coupe in Harrisburg during October 1999. As a ‘backyard mechanic,’ I bought a Haynes service manual and discovered my Corvette was much different than the standard model. Little did I know, the previous owner put in thousands of dollars of speed equipment, including an Accel Super-ram intake system, 4:11 posi-traction rear end, and headers. Soon afterwards in January 2000, I joined the Easton Area Corvette Club and enjoyed club events and shows, especially with my son, Douglas. Then early 2005, disaster struck. On a short drive, my oil pressure read “0” but the car still ran. What I thought was nothing more than a simple gauge failure turned into engine failure due to oil starvation. I replaced the engine with a “new” remanufactured engine. A few years later, I had the painted Fire Red Metallic. How time flies, I can’t believe I’ve owned this Corvette for 15 years. November was a slow month for members of the EACC. Victory Lane will be discontinued for the season 2015 Corvette Stingray - NEW Velocity Yellow 3LT Package Z51 Package Corvette Pictured is the actual vehicle at Rossi Chevrolet, Buick, GMC
