The Blue & Gold is published monthly by: The Easton Area Corvette Club, Inc. P.O. Box 3969 Easton, PA 18043-3969 CLUB MEETINGS Club meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month March through October. November through February meetings are held once a month on the first Thursday of each month. Meeting dates may change depending on holidays. All meetings are held at the YR Club on Rt. 611 in Easton except during the months of May through September, when the first meeting of the month will be held outdoors at Hackett Park weather permitting. All meetings start at 7:30 PM and are subject to change depending on weather conditions. To find out the status of a meeting, check email prior to the meeting. Here it is August already. Summer is passing us by like a blink of an eye. While we still have some great summer days left, let’s try to take advantage of this time and enjoy our cars. Unfortunately, our last cruise at The Crossings is this month. After all the great years of having great cruises at the Crossings, it will be hard to say good-bye. Thanks goes out to the merchants who supported the Club and a special thanks to Kohl’s. Kohl’s provided us with workers, discount coupons, and a big $500.00 donation to Camelot for Children. The merchants also provided our members and fellow cruisers with great shopping and places to eat. Fortunately, with the hard work of the cruise committee, things are ready to roll at our new cruise location in Forks Township at the Park Plaza Shopping Center located at 1800 Sullivan Trail. Our “Cruisin on the Trail” will be begin on Saturday, September 6th. The cruise committee has done a great job planning for the move and have the layout and traffic flow planned. Thanks to the committee for their dedication and hard work to make this new location possible. Sunday, August 10th is the Vettes for Pets show to benefit the Center for Animal Health and Welfare. Don’t forget to pre-register by August 6th. Even if you can’t attend, you can support the club, the show and still get a T-Shirt. We are hoping for another successful year with the help and generosity of you, the members, and local businesses. There are a lot of furry friends looking for forever homes. If you have ever had a pet, you know the unconditional love and devotion they give. So, if you or a friend needs that void in your life filled……contact the Center at 610-252-2722, and let them know you are from the EACC. Please come out and support this event and help the Center who relies solely on donations and volunteers to help all the homeless animals. I want to thank everyone who has helped me through a year with a lot of challenges and hurdles which included the relocation of the storage of the club trailer, relocation of the cruises, obtaining permits for the new cruises, finding a new sponsor for the club, Rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC, and soliciting gift cards and donations for the cruises and Vettes for Pets. From new members to old, your contributions and hard work is always appreciated by myself and your club officers. The delivery option (RPO R8C) also included limousine transportation from the airport to the factory, a commemorative walnut plaque, museum badge and private guided tour of the factory and museum. All of that for only and additional $490.00. Out of the total production of 35,627 Corvettes in 2001, there were 457 museum deliveries. Production included 5,773 ZO6 coupes. My ZO6 Corvette is one of 1,345 ZO6 Corvettes painted Quicksilver Metallic (RPO 12U). It has a unique Black and Firethorn Red color combination on the interior. This is the only one produced with that color interior. My 2001 ZO6 has every option available including Electronic Monochromatic Mirror and Memory Package. The only option not on this ZO6 is the Millenium Yellow paint option that was an additional $600 which was only offered with a black interior. All ZO6’s came with the LS6 engine which produced 385 HP @ 6000 RPM and 385 lb-ft of torque @ 4800 RPM. Standard features for the 2001 ZO6 included a titanium exhaust system and Goodyear F1 tires. This Corvette was originally purchased by my son and when I had the opportunity to purchase it from him, I became the second owner. The Corvette pictured below presently has around 11,000 original miles thanks to being kept in the garage most of the time. I plan on giving this beauty back to my son and hopefully to Tom Kressly IV who is my only Grandson. - Tom Kressly - Here are some pictures from some club events and show attended by members during July EACC Picnic at Mauch Chunk Lake - July 13, 2014 Pocono Palace Car Show - July 12, 2014 Len Feinberg 2 Place - Best Modern Classic nd Nazareth Day Car Show - July 19, 2014
