ABOUT FRANCIS HOUSE TRIP OF A LIFETIME Francis House Children’s Hospice provides care for children and young adults with life limiting conditions and supports families from across the North West and beyond. This trip of a lifetime will cost £950.00 per person and we expect you to fund the trip yourself (the cost covers flights, airport taxes, guides, accommodation and food). We give support and care in the following ways: In addition we ask each trekker to raise £1000.00 (one thousand pounds) for Francis House. We will help you to build a plan to reach the target and offer tips, advice, fundraising materials and support. • • • • Skilled nursing care in a homely and secure environment Essential breaks for parents and families A flexible service to suit individual family’s needs A lifeline by being available day and night The major part of our funding is charitable and last year it cost £3.6 million to keep the service open. Now we are able to announce that TREK 2 is to take place in October 2015. This will be a breath taking journey through the High Atlas mountain passes of Morocco ending in the colorful bazaars of Marrakech. Stunning panoramas of deep gorges and fertile valleys provide the backdrop to this unmissable trek. ITINERARY Day 1 & 2 The first two nights will be spent in the Kasbah allowing for a half day acclimatisation trek with a chance to see local Berber villages. Day 3 We climb to the Tizi Mzik pass (2684m) continuing to Tamsoult where we visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains. Camp at Azib Tamsoult (5 hours). Day 4 Through juniper forests to the village of Tizi Oussem before traversing Tizi N’Tagoudalte pass (2700m). Bivouac at Azib N’osoul (7 hours). Day 5 Through almond groves to the Assaka Spring then up to Tizi N’Touati (2100m). Bivouac in the village of Tizan (1600m) (7 hours). Day 6 Downhill through nature reserves ending with bivouac at Tizian Ouirgan (4 hours). Day 7 A short walk prior to lunch before transferring to Marrakech for sightseeing.
