Advantages of solid cellular vinyl
This free foam cellular PVC material, first manufactured as trim
boards for the housing industry, was chosen by Walpole for
outdoor structures because it won’t rot, warp or twist, and is
free of voids and cracks. Just as important, this material which
has the look and feel of natural wood, is virtually maintenance free.
To ensure unsurpassed quality of solid cellular vinyl railing
systems, Walpole spent years of research, investigating the
correct lamination and finishing techniques. As a result, we
now use exclusive dies to form the solid vinyl into smooth rails
that are reinforced and factory painted in a choice of colors from
Sherwin-Williams®, the preeminent paint company.
Other manufacturers, on the other hand, use extruded, shiny vinyl
in a limited color choice. Or, they manufacture a composite from
ground wood flour which is then coated in a shiny, non-paintable
PVC capstock. Most styles use visible, exposed brackets in the
installation process.
Rest assured, Walpole never skimps on quality, and all the time-honored
methods and nuances that have made Walpole’s wood products so
distinctive for generations, are carefully replicated in this advanced material.

We craft our railing using proprietary dies, allowing our
skilled professionals to create complete systems, with
smooth, seamless top rails, perfectly straight or formed

pre-assembled sections for easier installation. Sections

The Classic Pendleton railing handcrafted in solid
cellular vinyl smartly complements homes with
clean, modern architecture. Those who prefer a
subtle deck railing that does not detract from the
view, will be drawn to the comparatively thin
rails, both top and bottom.
