OIC Family Medical
Center
OIC Family Medical Center is a federally funded
FQHC commonly referred to as a Community
Health Center. This status change occurred in June
2012 following years of preparation to qualify for
this distinction. This new status promises a brighter
healthcare future for Rocky Mount residents. As an
FQHC, we are entitled to apply for a variety of new
programs to help our citizens get a full array of services at very affordable rates.
OIC meets the health needs of the community by
providing comprehensive, quality, and affordable
healthcare to uninsured and underserved populations through our Family Medical Center (FMC).
The opportunity to develop an on-going relationship
with our providers and our medical team encourages patients to take advantage of early detection
and healthy lifestyle changes. Please do not hesitate
to ask how we can better serve your health care
needs in the future.
OIC FMC provides the following services:
Primary care - medical home establishment
Physical examinations
Blood pressure screenings
Diabetes screenings
HIV / STD testing and counseling
Immunizations / Vaccinations
Hepatitis screenings
Nutrition counseling
Mother-baby care
Well-child check ups
Minor gynecologic (female) procedures
Chronic disease management
Special Services for
Children
Children in the community too often lack consistent healthcare. OIC FMC offers specialized
services for children which include immunizations, school and sports physicals, and well child
care / WIC.
OIC Mobile Area
Health Clinic
Our Mobile Area Health Clinic (MAHC) provides
on-site Primary Care and Outreach service
throughout the community. The MAHC brings our
services into the community for those who are unable to come to our facility. The MAHC is staffed
by our Community Prevention Services (CPS)
team members and a medical provider.
In addition to serving MAHC clients with intake,
counseling, and screening services, the CPS team
provides door to door outreach services and information about various health concerns including:
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Diabetes
Hypertension
Asthma
Cancer
Our CPS team also informs community members
about programming opportunities at the Community Health Education Center (CHEC).
Through our Nash Health Care System (Nash General Hospital) partnership, we have established the
Medical Home Project. This will serve those who
use the hospital's Emergency Room as a prima-
ry care center. As a result, patients no longer
have to wait at the ER when they can have a
medical home dedicated to them and their
whole family.

Opioid-Induced Constipation (OIC) Treatment Market

Opioid-Induced Constipation (OIC) Treatment Market Opioids are a class of medications that are regularly endorsed for their pain relieving, or pain-killing, properties it is chronic and non-cancer pain. A typical symptom connected with the utilization of these medications are that they decrease the gastrointestinal tract's motility, making solid discharges and making patients strain. In addition, prolonged utilization of opioids can prompt the harm of sensory system that causes body cells to quit creating endogenous opioids, for example, endorphins. There is high risk of constipation in adults since they have poor diet, poor fluid intake and immobility. The typical symptoms for opioid-induced constipation are feeling lethargic, hard and dry stools, distention and bulged abdomen, painful defecation and loss of appetite. The opioid-induced constipation (OIC) treatment market is an exceptionally alluring and promising market because of the expanding base of opioid-induced constipation OIC sufferers.
