He won the Ponoka Stampede in 2012 as well becoming the first chuckwagon driver to win chuckwagon racing’s “Triple the Calgary Stampede’s Centennial Celebration year of 2012Crown” consisting of the Ponoka Stampede, Calgary Stampede Aggregate and the GMC Rangeland Derby in a single year. Troy won the Calgary Stampede's Orville Strandquist Award for Top Rookie Driver in 1998 and has qualified for the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby's winner–take–all championship final heat three times. He won the WPCA Clean Drive Award in 2011 and was the WPCA's Top Rookie Driver in 1993. Troy is a third generation chuckwagon driver with one of the most famous last names in professional chuckwagon racing. He has placed inside the top ten in the World Standings seven of the past eight years including the past six years consecutively. Doug Irvine Auction Order #2 Birth Date: August 8, 1975 Residence: Bonnyville, Alberta Doug had his most successful Calgary Stampede to date qualifying for his first GMC Rangeland Derby winner–take–all championship final finishing second by a mere one one-hundredth of a second – the closest winnertake-all final in Calgary Stampede history. He won his first Calgary Stampede day money on day 4 of the 2012 GMC Rangeland Derby, and ran penalty free all ten days. Doug was the Ponoka Stampede champion in 2008, received the WPCA Clean Drive Award in 2006, and outrode for two Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Championship outfits and 3 Calgary Stampede Aggregate winners. He was runner–up to the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races and the North American Chuckwagon Championship in 2011. Doug started his career with on the CPCA circuit where he was the CPCA’s High Point Rookie Driver in 1998, the CPCA’s High Point Rookie outrider in 1993 and the CPCA outrider champion in 1997. Gary Gorst Auction Order #3 Birth Date: January 31, 1955 Residence: Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan Gary had his most successful Calgary Stampede to date qualifying for his first GMC Rangeland Derby winner–take–all championship final and having his outriding horse “Smiles” named to the Calgary Stampede’s inaugural Equine Outfit of Excellence in 2012. He qualified for the GMC Rangeland Derby’s “Semi Final Saturday” in 2010, and joined the WPCA Pro Tour in 2012 qualifying for the winner–take–all championship final in his first event at the Grande Prairie Stompede. Prior to joining the WPCA, Gary had a very successful career on the CPCA circuit where he was the 2010 CPCA Champion driver, the CPCA’s High Point Driver three times in four years, and won 13 show championships in a 5 year stretch. Gary won the CPCA’s Bruce Bremner Award for the Most Consistent Barreling Outfit in 2010, received the CPCA's Chuckwagon Family of the Year Award in 2005, and qualified for the winner–take–all final for the CPCA Championship in six consecutive years and finished no worse than 3rd overall in the same time period. Gary is a second generation wagon man whose father Art Gorst competed at the Stampede in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Gary is the father of fellow driver Logan Gorst and champion outrider Dustin Gorst. Jason Glass Auction Order #4 Birth Date: December 15, 1970 Residence: High River, Alberta Jason won his fourth career World Chuckwagon Championship in 2012, his right leader “Tycoon” was named to the Calgary Stampede’s inaugural Equine Outfit of Excellence, and he made his sixth trip to the GMC Rangeland Derby’s winner–take–all final. 2012 also saw Jason win the WPCA’s GMC Sierra Cup series, the Grande Prairie Stompede, and for the fourth time he had a horse named to the WPCA’s Equine Outfit of Excellence. Jason is a two–time Calgary Stampede Aggregate winner, received the Calgary Stampede’s prestigious Guy Weadick Award in 2010, and won two Calgary Stampede Safe Drive Awards for least penalized driver. He won the WPCA Clean Drive Award in 2008, was the WPCA's Top Rookie Driver in 1989, Top Rookie Outrider in 1987, received the WPCA's Most Improved Chuckwagon Outfit Award in 1990, and was WPCA’s Most Improved Outrider in 1988. He outrode for two Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Championship outfits and three Calgary Stampede Aggregate winners. Jason is a fourth generation chuckwagon champion, whose father Tom Glass, grandfather Ronnie Glass, and great-grandfather Tom Lauder are some of the greatest names in the sport has ever known. He was runner up to the 2012 World Chuckwagon Championship, and his horse “Cougar” was named to the WPCA’s Equine Outfit of Excellence. He won three day monies at the 2012 GMC Rangeland Derby which was the start of an incredible streak of eight consecutive day monies by the same four horses. Kirk was the WPCA Most Improved Outfit award winner in 1984, and along with his brother Kelly are the only brother combination to qualify for the GMC Rangeland Derby’s winner–take–all final in the same year and it happened all three years Kirk made it into the final. Colt Cosgrave Auction Order #6 Birth Date: November 4, 1978 Residence: Hand Hills, Alberta Colt had his best career Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby in 2012 placing sixth overall, qualifying for “Semi Final Saturday”, and was runner-up for the 2012 Calgary Stampede Aggregate title. 2012 also saw Colt qualify for the winner-take-all final at the Battle of the Rockies in Rocky Mountain House on the WPCA GMC Pro Tour. Colt won the 2006 Red Deer Chuckwagon Championship, had a horse named to the 2006 WPCA Equine Outfit of Excellence, and was named WPCA Most Improved Driver in 2010. He competed at the 2008 GMC Rangeland Derby as a replacement driver, and drove the demonstration race at the Calgary Stampede in 2005. Colt is the cousin of World Champion Chuckwagon Driver Jason Glass, and the son of the late Richard Cosgrave for whom the Calgary Stampede Aggregate Trophy is named. Colt is a fourth generation champion chuckwagon driver with twenty–eight Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Championships, six Calgary Stampede Aggregate Championships, and fourteen World Championships in his family’s history. Hugh Sinclair Auction Order #7 Birth Date: August 14, 1966 Residence: Grande Prairie, Alberta Hugh is a four–time Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Champion and was the Calgary Stampede's Aggregate winner in 2000. In 2012 his horse “Ciano” was named to the Calgary Stampede’s inaugural Equine Outfit of Excellence, and he successfully defended his title at the Battle of the Rockies. Hugh is undefeated in the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby's winner–take–all championship final heat having qualified and won four times. Hugh outrode for two Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Championship outfits and one Calgary Stampede Aggregate winner. 2012 saw Hugh win the Battle of the Rockies for the second consecutive yearand establish a new track record there as well. He has had two horses named to the WPCA's Equine Outfit of Excellence, was the WPCA's Top Rookie Outrider in 1982, WPCA’s Most Improved Outrider in 1986, and received the WPCA's Most Improved Chuckwagon Outfit Award in 1998. Hugh has won eighteen major chuckwagon titles over his career including the 2008 WPCA Pro Tour Championship in Strathmore, a record five Battle of the North championships, and holds two WPCA track records. Vern Nolin Auction Order #8 Birth Date: March 1, 1973 Residence: Rapid View, Saskatchewan Vern won his second career CPCA Championship, was the CPCA’s High Point Driver, and qualified for the GMC Rangeland Derby’s “Semi Final Saturday” for the second consecutive year. He was the only semi-finalist from the 2011 GMC Rangeland Derby to make the semi-final round again in 2012. Vern was co-champion of the CPCA’s Dewberry show in 2012, and posted additional victories at the Meadow Lake Stampede, Wainwright Stampede and CPCA Lloydminster Finals. He has qualified for the winner–take–all final heat for the CPCA Chuckwagon Championship five times, was the co–winner of the CPCA's Most Improved Driver Award and received the CPCA Chuckwagon Family of the Year Award in 2004. Vern is the younger brother of fellow driver Shane and 2012 CPCA Champion Outrider Mick Nolin.
