Program Guide. This brochure
includes a wide variety of
programs offered at our Recreation
Facilities from September through
November.
Pre-registration is required for
most programs. You may register
by calling the Center where the
program is scheduled to take place.
All of our facilities are open to
the public! Parks and facilities

Cheer America Cheerleading
Learn cheerleading chants and
pom-pom routines.
This program is for boys and girls
ages 4-14.
Cheer America is a fun and exciting
cheerleading program for children.
The class promotes coordination,
confidence and physical fitness.
This program will teach the basic
requirements for middle and high
school tryouts. Classes are 45
minutes of “Fun and Instruction”.

Self-Defense Class
This class promotes safety awareness,
self-discipline, physical fitness,
self-confidence and lots of fun. This
fun course for children is designed for
self-defense purposes emphasizing
child safety awareness. We do not
teach “Bullying Tactics”.
Self-discipline rather than
aggressiveness is promoted. A certified
black belt will teach various basic
self-defense/karate techniques and
forms. NO physical contact is allowed
in beginner class. Students completing
the course with perfect attendance will
receive a karate medal.

This program offers a wide range of

homework assistance and field trips.

of Halloween activities!
This festival is held on Main St. in Downtown Monroe and is
sponsored by Downtown Monroe and Monroe Parks and Recreation.
All activities and booths are free and concessions will be available for purchase.
