The Exhaust Commander allows you to take Full Command of your ZL1 Camaro Dual
Mode Exhaust.
Exhaust Commander gives you the ability to open and close the butterfly valves in the
exhaust on demand.
When the butterfly valves are closed the car will operate just like a stock car would. You
can choose to open and close the butterflies with the supplied wireless remotes whenever
you want. When the butterflies are your ZL1 will have the true muscle car sound!
This kit will allow the Stock ZL1 Camaro mufflers to be controlled via the supplied keyfob
remote or the Homelink universal visor remote.
Tools Needed:
10mm Socket ( for ground ring ).
Step 1:
Open the trunk of your car. You will need to access the fuse block in the rear
passenger side.
Step 2:
Locate and remove the Exh Flap fuse at location F8. Also, loosen the 10mm
bolt holding the ground ring using a 10mm socket.
Step 3:
Plug the Exhaust Commander fuse adapter into the Exh Flap fuse slot F8 with
the wires routed towards the top as shown.
Step 4:
Place the Exhaust Commander ground ring under the chassis ground ring and
tighten the 10mm bolt back down. Affix the Exhaust Commander unit to the
body using the supplied Velcro. You can now replace the fuse block cover.
Step 5:
Start the Car and raise the engine RPM high enough to close the butterflies. Use
the unit’s remote to verify open and closing of the Muffler Butterfly Valves.
Step 6:
Go out and make some noise! Enjoy your Exhaust
Commander wireless exhaust controller.
