and Trainers, the Badge Office is at the Exit from the
Car Park to the Course. Owners and Trainers Buffet
lounge and Bar in The Nicolson Building is a specific

TRAVEL INFORMATION
ROAD: The racecourse is located just 20 minutes
from Junction 36 of the M6 motorway, although
racegoers are advised to arrive early on all racedays.
Cartmel Racecourse has very few permanent facilities, so we
dedicate a section of the hospitality marquee to owners and
trainers where you will find a bar and a selection of snacks and
light bites. If you would like to book a seat in one of the
restaurants, please mention that you have a horse running when
you book (advance booking is essential) - as we will deduct £20
from the normal package price.
RAIL: Cark-in-Cartmel Station is 2 miles from the race
Free camping spaces are available (one per runner) to owners in
the racecourse camp-site, subject to availability. Booking in
advance is essential as maximum limits are determined by our site
license.

The Directors of the racecourse enjoy meeting owners and trainers
in the Parade Ring before each race. Please don't hesitate to
introduce yourselves, especially if you are visiting the racecourse
for the first time - we like to make sure that everyone is being
looked after.
Every winner at Cartmel receives a Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding
as well as their prize money, something which seems to make
everyone try that little bit harder!

Trainers car parking at Catterick is free and situated
across the road from the Owners & Trainers
entrance.
Once inside the Racecourse your badge will give you
access to all public facilities. The Owners & Trainers
bar is situated near to the Parade Ring where there
are a wide range of snacks and beverages available,
including complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.
Alternatively, if you require something more
substantial and have not reserved a table there are a
limited number of spaces reserved in the Winning
Streak restaurant for Owners and Trainers wishing to
purchase a meal from the a la carte menu.

located at the top of the Brockman Stand, this is only
accessible to Owners with runners on the day and
licensed Trainers.
Owners are given a voucher for either a

The owners and trainers bar is situated alongside the
parade ring and winners enclosure. It is also
conveniently close to the stable yard, saddling boxes
and the stable staff hostel. The facility consists of a
glass sided marquee attached to a permanent bar
structure and includes an outside decking area with
tables and chairs. Light lunches and snacks can also
be purchased here and tea and coffee is provided
free of charge.

The Owners and Trainers facilities extend to your own
exclusive Bar overlooking the parade ring which includes a
seated area on the lawn for your enjoyment when the
weather is fine and also encompasses the Owners and
Trainers Desk where all your queries will be answered and
from where the meal vouchers are issued. This whole
facility has been refurbished to make it more spacious and
comfortable for your visit and complimentary teas and
coffees shall be provided throughout the day.
There is also another permanent marquee called Sprinters
Restaurant, again exclusively reserved for Owners and
Trainers with runners on the day, and includes an
additional bar in which we entertain all Winners with a
champagne reception and a re-run of the race victory on
the CCTV.
Each Owner and Trainer with a horse entered will receive
two vouchers from the Owners and Trainers Desk which,
should you declare your horse to run, entitle you to two
complimentary meals in this dedicated restaurant.

our Winning Post and Paddock Restaurants are
extremely popular and subject to availability. We do
not ask Owners or Trainers for a deposit and keep an
allotted number of tables available for each raceday.
We now have a hotel on site and are more than
happy to arrange accommodation for owners
travelling a long distance.
Dress Code: We are a very friendly & relaxed
racecourse but we prefer our patrons to dress
smartly.
Winning owners will receive a DVD of their race and

Pontefract Racecourse will:Deal with all owners in a courteous and helpful manner
from the time of their arrival at the Racecourse to the time
of their departure.
Send a welcome letter to the Owners of all horses entered
in races detailing owners facilities available at the
Racecourse.
Appoint a dedicated member of staff to act as Owners
Liaison Officer.
Liaise with syndicate representatives with regard to the
number of badges available to them, access to the parade
ring, and other requirements.
Provide dedicated parking facilities with clear signage. The
Owners Car Park is on the “inside” of the race track
opposite the Main Grandstand.
Brief all staff on what owners are entitled to and where
owners facilities are situated.
Allow Owners Badges to admit to the Racecourse and
owners facilities if a horse does not run having been
declared at the 48 hour stage.
Provide a dedicated owners facility.
Instruct the Caterers (CGC Events Ltd) to hold a dedicated
number of tables in the Premier Dining Room or Park Suite
Restaurant for Owners up to 10am on the day of racing.

OWNERS‟ FACILITIES
TRAVEL INFORMATION
The Owners and Trainers entrance is located
adjacent to the Owners & Trainers Car Park at the
northern end of the racecourse enclosures, near the
unsaddling area and pre-parade ring.
The Owners & Trainers Club is situated on the first
floor balcony level of the Melrose Stand, the stand
closest to the parade ring. The Club is reserved
exclusively for the use of owners and trainers with a
runner on the day. It is situated close to both the
Weighing Room and the Parade Ring.
Drinks and lunch will be served from 11.30am
onwards. Complimentary tea and coffee is available.
A three-course chef‟s carvery luncheon is served at a
great value price and operates throughout the
afternoon on a non-reserved basis. Afternoon Tea is
also available. We do reserve a number of spaces in
our other top restaurants reserved at a special price.
ROAD: Follow the A1036 York (West) exit of the A64.
Then follow signs for „A‟ car park labels which will
direct you to the appropriate-ate car park. The O&T
car park is at the front of Car Park A, just north of
the saddling boxes & pre-parade ring.
RAIL: Fast & frequent trains run from London King‟s
Cross talking approximately 1hr 52 min. A shuttle bus
service operates from the station.
