The deep blue and white in the flower means there is both a trush and a deeper truth; almost a feeling. The flower stands for the variety in life. The heart symbolizes my belief that oneʼs heart will lead one in the right direction. The outer circle represents balance as a member of the world community. I chose the four aces because they symbolize the four elements; earth, wind, water, and fire. The dark blue stands for truth and peace, while the chain represents unity. My thinking was inspired by Navajo ideas of Hozho (life in balance). My visual inspiration was found on a rug by Navajo artist, Noel Bennett. The rug has blocky geomeric designs and lots of symbols. When trading with white buyers increased, the Navajo were influenced to add figures to their traditional geometric shapes.” -Brittany Hunyadi (artist comment located on front of artwork) Piece #47: Cards Size: 26” X 21” #48 Piece #48: 1st Place Size: 27” X 20” 1st Place submitted by: Student Erika Scheetz, Grade 8 Created in the 1994-95 school year by then 8th grader Erika Scheetz, this piece is a real eye-catcher, guaranteed to brighten up any room, signed (glass frame). #49 Hillside Sunset submitted by: Former Student Wendy Foo Current Bid: $15 (2/16/10) Piece #49: Hillside Sunset Size: 24” X 18” Take a walk through an Italian hillside and watch the sun set with #49, signed (glass frame). #50 Piece #50: Tree Lovers Palace Size: 10.5” X 8” Tree Lovers Palace submitted by: Student Lindsay Fishman Add a spark to any room in the house with this signed piece (glass frame). #51 Piece #51: Music Size: 13” X 16” Music submitted by: Alexa Gellegani, Grade 5 Deer Run Music comes to life as the light hits the metallic features in this signed piece.
