Arena Travel have a textile tour in India, March 2016.
This will include Delhi, Mumbai and many fascinating
places between, including lunch at The Best Marigold
Hotel. The tour is confirmed and there are only a few

Through our weekly enews, we will be linking you to a new block (s) or technique each week . The blocks will be 6" finished and it is suggested that you
can make them by starting with a Jelly roll and Layer Cake or two Layer
Cakes or fabric from your stash. The patterns will be in greyscale.
We can only link you through the enews which means that you must access

background fabric.

The 67” x 91” Large Quilt is perfect for a single bed or to

All blocks are sewn with simple straight and diagonal
seams. No templates or paper piecing!
The pattern includes a fabric chart with easy-to-follow
letter and number codes to ensure that you can duplicate
the fabric placement exactly or, if you’re using different
fabric, distribute it evenly throughout the quilt.
When selecting fat quarters for the Fancy Forest quilt,
choose colourful fabrics in sets of 5 monochromatic fat
quarters each. The quilt will be most successful if the
fabrics in each set include a value scale from lightest

A quick, easy and fun way to make a quilt top using a Jelly Roll that can
be embellished using applique (additional fabric will be required). The
cost of this class covers one Jelly Roll of your choice plus half a metre of

Karin will explain how to achieve the lovely curves from straight line

Karin has some excellent hand stitches which will help you finish a

Compass designs look fantastic, especially when you have learnt to
draft your own! This workshop teaches you how to draft your own

Join Alex for a structured workshop creating a mounted textural landscape on silk, utilising the library of various stitch effects available to

work a literal picture of a landscape or work in a more abstract manner
to create your layers of colours. We will explore the wealth of different
textural techniques including distressing, couching and manipulating
both decorative yarns, cords and fabrics. Ideal for both beginners and

An opportunity to explore and experiment with laminated stitch and
discover how you could include this contemporary material in your
own textile work. A structured day based upon a wall hanging created
on a coastal theme although more floral motifs can be introduced if you
wish. You will combine materials such as painted Bondaweb, sequin
waste and metallic sheers, before hand and machine stitching each
piece using water-soluble fabric. Machine. £7 payable to tutor for
materials on the day.

A Charming Beginning with Annie Whatling

A fantastic one day class for those who have never made a quilt. You
will use a packet of 5” charm squares, stitch together and then add borders for the quilt top. You will learn to layer with wadding and backing,
before giving birth to the quilt. We will be surprised if this is not the
first on many quilts! Machine.

Spend time learning how to design and make your own contemporary
textile panel. Working with applique, stitch and paint you will work

Spend time with a group of like minded craft loving people working on
your latest project, or tackling UFO’s. We provide a tutor for the first
couple of hours to advise. Our clubs are times when sewers can get-together and work on their projects in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
