easyPunch STARlet Standard Solutions Automated sample punching and processing Integrated, flexible system For DMPK sample card punching and pipetting easyPunch is a system integrating FTA sample collection card punching and liquid handling capability all in one instrument. Its flexible modular nature makes it easy to tailor the workflow exactly to your needs. Additional functionalities such as inventory of cards and cherry picking add even more value to the system. Removal of tedious work during punching and pipetting decreases health risks of personnel. Integrated sample card punching and liquid handling Increased reproducibility Increased traceability Increased productivity and speed Traceability Full traceability of samples is of paramount importance to reduce loss and mix-up of samples. easyPunch traces loaded cards, magazines and plates and monitors the result of punching samples and pipetting. As a result, you have the whole workflow under control. Barcodes of card magazines and destination plates read and traced during loading Barcodes on cards read and traced during imaging Online monitoring and reporting of punch delivery to destination well Online monitoring and reporting of liquid handling Customizable No report file transfer of files between instruments required Minimize contamination • Flexible cleaning punch functionality from sample cards or separate cards • Integrated vacuum system and ionizer for removing dust and static Easy to use software • Punch head easily removable • Design your own plate for cleaning and follow • No userlayout interference or the software wizard to exchange required during processing program your assay including replicas, predilution and worklist handling • Create a run using only a Exceptional Card analysis The card imaging and analysis function is designed to enable optimal robustness and specificity. An image of the card taken by an internal CCD camera is analyzed for card barcode, sampling area and sample. During the analysis of the sample, it is validated according to preset parameters. In addition, the validation state of each sample in the card is checked if applicable. Pre-punched positions are identified and the optimal punching position is determined according to the selected punch strategy. The parameters for the analysis can be fine-tuned to meet your requirements. Different imaging settings can be used for different experiments, enabling best adaption to precisely meet the specifications of your sample. Recognition of positively stained samples (e.g. blood on white card) and negatively stained sample (e.g. saliva, plasma or urine on indicating cards) Recognition of already punched positions Calculation of optimal punching position by impartial sample detection according to preset parameters Sample punch analysis Specifications System: Intended use Integrated system for automated sample punching from DMPK and Forensic cards and processing of punched disks System dimensions Width: 1124mm, height: 945.5mm, depth: 795mm (Autoload: 1006mm) Weight <200kg PC (included) Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3GHz,1333MHz,6MB), 2048 MB RAM, 2x250GB harddisk RAID 1, Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, 6 USB and 2 RS232 circuit points or better communication pipetting unit: USB / data transfer: Peer-to-Peer connection Communication USB / data transfer: Peer-to-Peer connection Nominal Operating data voltage 115VAC / 230VAC (±10% of the nominal voltage) Frequency Operating environment Maximum power 50Hz / 60Hz 15 - 30°C,C, up to 2000m above sea level, indoor use only 1150VA ± 5% Punch module/card and plate gripper: Supported card formats Whatman® EasiCollect™ cards (51x51mm) and compatible Whatman® FTA® DMPK cards (84x53mm) and compatible Punch sizes available 1.2mm, 2mm, 3mm, 6mm Removal of contamination Up to 20 cleaning punches supported Capacity Depending on customized deck layout; usually 200+ cards Predefined demo methods: DMPK Punching and addition of extraction reagent HID Pipetting PCR mix, punching in well, addition of positive control Inventory method Generate report file with barcodes and positions of cards for import in LIMS Cherry picking Pick cards from magazines according to worklist Pipetting unit: Pipetting arm MPH/iswap arm, card and plate gripper, 4 x 1000μl pipetting channels Positional accuracy X-Y-Z positional accuracy of 0.1mm Tip sizes 50μl, 300μl, 1000μl Liquid Level Detection Capacitive liquid level detection (cLLD) and pressure (pLLD) on aspiration, cLLD on dispense, minimum volume 10μl, depending on container type Disclaimer: the easyPunch STARlet system is classified as a product for general laboratory use and not as an IVD device defined by EU directive 98/79/EC (“in vitro diagnostics”).
