LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
CASE STUDIES:
• Athletic Leadership Initiative prepared middle & high school student-athletes to
demonstrate leadership and promote a cultural shift towards character based
servant leaders to impact their teams, schools and communities. We have
developed & implemented (5) “Football Leadership Camps”; (3) “Girls Basketball
Leadership Camps”; and (5) “Leadership Retreats” serving (485) student athletes
from (60) Delaware Valley high schools. Programs focused on personal/team
leadership, character development, academic improvement strategies, community
service and skill improvement.
• Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute (Certified Master Trainer) offered
teenage students the caliber of leadership training typically available only to Fortune
500 corporate executives. It featured interactive training and field exercises
through which students gained valuable experience for college, employment, and
community involvement while learning leadership skills in an interactive manner.
We have successfully implemented the program since 1997 with over (2,000) high
school students through collaborations with (30) schools and organizations. Also
served as national trainer for the Points of Light Foundation leading (32) train the
trainer seminars for over (600) adults from over (150) organizations.
• Statewide Leadership Retreat for Youth Partnership promoted leadership and
advocacy for youth with mental health issues to reduce stigma associated with
mental health issues. Over (70) youth and adults successfully completed the two
day training for youth partnership councils from (7) NJ counties.
• Mentoring Training prepares students for one-on-one peer mentoring and positive
role modeling to promote the importance of education. The training also promoted
interest and participation in enrichment activities while integrating substance abuse
prevention education for (40) high school students who mentor (100) middle and
elementary school students.
• “Make it Happen: Success Training” Based on the book by Kevin Liles (Executive
VP of the Warner Music Group) “Make it Happen: The Hip Hop Generation Guide to
Success”, the program illustrated the (10) success principles and strategies out
lined in the book to equip youth to effectively work with others and reach their
personal potential. The program was a collaboration with local county government
that not only motivated young people but also encouraged literacy for the (85)
participants in (3) sessions.
