Logan Bell Housing PTO Clutches Self-Adjusting PTO’s for Industrial, Marine, Agriculture, Off-Road and Mobile Equipment Logan, a leader in SAE PTO Clutches for auxiliary and direct drive applications, now offers a self-adjusting, hydraulic or pneumatic Bell Housing PTO clutch assembly for diesel and gasoline engines. The Logan Bell Housing PTO mounts directly to a diesel or gasoline engine’s flywheel. Applications include Tree and Brush chippers, Crash Fire Rescue Trucks, Snow Removal Equipment, Mobil Equipment, Marine Workboats, Industrial and Oil Field machinery and more. Logan Clutches – How They Work Pressurizing the cylinder forces the piston to clamp and lock the friction and steel separator discs. When pressure is removed, release springs separate the friction and steel discs, maintaining a running clearance when disengaged. Logan Double Disc Bell Housing PTO Patent Pending Eliminates Mechanical Linkages Self-adjusting piston travel compensates for any disc wear eliminating the need for mechanical adjustment (i.e. levers, linkages, and yokes). The amount of hydraulic or pneumatic pressure applied regulates the amount of torque transmitted through the clutch. Push-button, remote activation from a control panel, marine wheelhouse or cab is now possible. Retrofits with Twin Disc, Funk, Durst, Gear Products and Marco style pump drives Retrofits with existing Twin Disc and Rockford Mechanical PTO’s Logan clutches are designed to factory or field retrofit with existing Twin Disc and Rockford style mechanical style PTO’s. The Logan system eliminates mechanical linkages, and utilizes the same Twin Disc or Rockford shaft, bell housing and drive ring – making field installation quick and easy. Complete Logan assemblies are available for OEM, Distributor and End user applications.
