Fine art, gifts, art consultation, special exhibits, and
monthly openings. Art includes oils, acrylics, watercolor,
giclée, stained glass, wood, jewelry, and fabric designs
by local and emerging area talent. Seven gallery
artisans have been juried into Heartwood, and gallery
members’ paintings can be found in prestigious venues
throughout Virginia and nearby states.
The Appalachian Spirit Artists Association is a 501(c)3
nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate the
arts, traditions, lore, and spirit of the Appalachians and
to showcase work of local talent.
Founded in 2007 by the
Appalachian Spirit Gallery,
Marion’s ArtWalk celebrates
art, crafts, music, food, and
fun. Join us for 2nd Fridays! at
Appalachian Spirit Gallery and
move through businesses and
events in downtown Marion.
From April through December, the gallery is open
Wednesdays through Friday 12:30–4:30pm and from
5–8pm on 2nd Fridays! Other hours available by
appointment or whim.
Spirit Railroad Express showcases awesome model
train layouts and is located in the lower level of the
gallery. A great attraction for children of all ages. Open
Saturday 10am-noon.
2nd Fridays! ArtWalk From April until December,
the 2nd Fridays! ArtWalk begins at Appalachian Spirit
Gallery and meanders through shops and restaurants
throughout downtown Marion — art, crafts, music,
jewelry, special events, exhibits, and more.
2nd Fridays! Music on the Porch Featuring regional
musical talent and has included icons such as Wayne
Henderson, Helen White, and Gerald Anderson.
