Many Volunteers who have generously donated their time to make the Annual
Muskrat Jamboree a continuous success!
Closing ceremonies will take place following the open class track
races at the River Site dependent on weather. Big event prizes
will be awarded and Raffle tickets will be drawn at this time.
All Ski-doo races, dog team races and snowshoe races (bigger events) must have a minimum of
four entries to begin.
The Muskrat Jamboree Committee reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any events they may
desire depending on the number of entries.
There will be security personnel at the Opening Ceremonies and the Talent Show monitoring the
doors, hallways and bathrooms. MJ2016 is a “Zero Tolerance” event.
There will be absolutely no vehicles or snowmobiles allowed on the game site. This will be
strictly enforced for the safety of our children. Parking space will be available next to the game
site.

Muskrat Jamboree 2016 Ski-Doo Races
Rules
1.
All races will be started in a line abreast.
2.
CSA approved undamaged helmets must be worn by all participants.
3.
All racers must be 18 years of age and older to sign the wavier on their own behalf. If they are 16
or 17 a parent &/or guardian must sign the wavier as well.
4.
A racer will be disqualified if the racers starting method continually interferes with other
contestants. There will be only one chance allowed before disqualification.
5.
A racer & his ski-doo shall be considered a unit. Once the race has begun neither shall be
substituted.
6.
All racers must register at the registration center & must sign a waiver form.
7.
Any person under the influence of alcohol &/or drugs will not be allowed to register.
8.
Any person showing up at the races under the influence of alcohol &/or drugs will not be allowed
to race & will forfeit their entry fee.
9.
Each ski-doo must be able to be shut off by a “kill” button or key. A ski-doo will not be permitted to
be in the race if a choke button only can stop it.
10.
The use of string or wire or any other material shall not be used for tying of the snow flaps. The
snow flaps shall not be altered so as to restrict or alter their intended use.
11.
Brakes may be changed or altered but must be fully operational at the start of the race.
12.
A break down will consist of five minutes after the ski-doo stops.
13.
A race official will start & finish each ski-doo race.
14.
All entry fees must be paid before the event begins. All entry fees are non-refundable.
15.
There will be a 15-minute period from the announcement of the race. After 15 minutes the race
will start pending sufficient entries have been received or will be cancelled by the Muskrat
Jamboree Ski-doo Committee as designated by the Muskrat Jamboree Committee.
16.
All discrepancies will be handled by an appeal committee under the direction of the Chairperson of
the Muskrat Jamboree Committee.
*17.
Each racer will be required to have a visible number on the snow machine or a number, which will
supplied by the MJC. This is to ensure that each racer can be identified correctly.
18.
One Mandatory pit stop is required for the Men’s Open Class Track Race.
Muskrat Jamboree 2016 Dog Team Races
Rules
1.
Dog Mushers are responsible for their dogs before, during & after the race. Any abuse of the
dogs is strictly prohibited.
2.
All Dog Mushers or designate must attend the dog mushers meeting on the day of your race @
12:00 pm to qualify for the race which will start at 1:00 pm.
3.
A maximum of 8 dogs & a minimum of 5 dogs for the Mary Firth Memorial Dog Team Race. A
maximum of 8 dogs & a minimum of 5 dogs for the Isaac Simon Memorial Dog Team Race.
4.
Dog teams will start with a mass start.
5.
No dog whips or ropes are allowed.
6.
Dog Mushers must allow teams to pass when being overtaken on the trail.
7.
The pre-designated zone will be given to you at the Dog Musher’s meetings.
8.
Dog Mushers must cross the finish line with all the dogs they started the race with.
9.
Spotter(s) will be on the trail during the races and can assist you if your team runs away from you
(the spotter’s duty is to stop & anchor the dog team).
10.
Your duty will be to catch up to the team. You may catch a ride with another musher who is in the
race. No snowmobile rides are permitted.
11.
Spotters may assist you to anchor your team, it is your duty to untangle your Dog Team, and at no
time can the spotter drive your team for you.
12.
All mushers and handlers must exhibit sportsman like behavior. Failure to act in a sportsmanlike
manner (dog abuse, abuse of race officials or volunteers) will result in disqualification from the
event and forfeiture of the entrance fee.
13.
The Race Marshall’s word is final.
14.
Complaints in regards to the race must be reported to the Race Marshall within 30 minutes of the
completion of the race.
15.
The nose of the lead dog that crosses the finish line will officially signal the end of the race for that
team.
16.
No one under the age of 17 years is allowed to mush a dog team.
17.
Failure to comply with the above rules can lead to disqualification.
Muskrat Jamboree 2016 Talent Show

Rules
1.
All contestants must be 16 and over.
2.
All performers are to be registered before 7:00 p.m. and pay their entry fee before performing
on the day of the Talent Show. No more entries will be taken once the talent show has started.
3.
Only CD’s with instrumentals allowed (no vocals) no other devices will be accepted.
4.
Each contestant must do a microphone check to ensure that they can be heard from the
crowd.
5.
Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to perform.
6.
Muskrat Jamboree is a ZERO TOLERANCE function.
7.
Judges will be picked at random from the crowd.
8.
All discrepancies will be handled by the Muskrat Jamboree committee under the direction of
the Chairperson of the Muskrat Jamboree Committee.
