Dow Corning 781 is a one component, ready-to-use
silicone sealant, which offers fast cure and good
weathering characteristics. The excellent adhesive
properties of Dow Corning 781 make it suitable for
use on aluminum, glass, formica, and most other
non-porous surfaces.
Dow Corning 786 Mildew Resistant Silicone Sealant is
a one part acetoxy silicone rubber sealant which has
excellent adhesion to a variety of non-porous surfaces.
It contains a food grade fungicide.

Dow Corning Firestop 400 is an intumescent acrylic sealant
for internal applications, developed to maintain the integrity

Trade Mate Plumba Thread is an adhesive designed for
locking and sealing pipe threads. It replaces PTFE tape
and dopes and gives an instant low pressure watertight

particles and use Dow Corning
Silicon Cleaner methylated
spirits to degrease joint.

Remove nozzle and cut tip off
cartridge. Replace nozzle and
cut tip to required width of seal.
Place cartridge in gun and apply

For perimeter pointing, minimum
width of sealant should be 6mm.
Joints between 6-12mm wide
require a seal depth of 6mm.
For joints above 12mm, a width to
depth ratio of 2:1 should be used
up to a maximum depth of 12mm.

Sealant should be tooled within
5 minutes of application to ensure
good contact between sealant
and substrate. This should be
done with a spatular dipped in
diluted soap solution.

Areas adjacent to joints should
be masked with masking tape to
protect from over application and
to obtain a professional finish.

Remove masking tape immediately
after tooling.

Joint depth should be controlled
by the use of backing material.
8.
Excess uncured material can be
removed from tools and non-porous
surfaces using White Spirit. Cured
sealant can be removed by using
Geocel Silicone Sealant
Remover or abrasion.
