SINGING/ PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE:
In 2001 I took on the role of lead male vocalist and compere for a show called Icons,
based in the Canary Islands. This very challenging role required me to play tribute to
a variety of high profile stars including Justin Timberlake, George Michael and, more
impressively, Frank Sinatra, Robbie Williams and Dean Martin . This experience in
particular enabled me to develop my vocal and stage presence skills to start me off in
the professional performance that has gone from strength to strength. My most
professional success so far was working with Micha Bergese Productions on three
shows on board the P&O Ship Ocean Village for two contracts. The first show was
called Crash. Crash is a high energy show with complicated dance routines and a
fantastic musicality from NSYNC to Billy Idol. The second show Pulse is slightly
more modern with music from Justin Timberlake to Raps from Fatboy Slim. All of
these roles I had to study and rehearse thoroughly working alongside Micha on a
personal level to ensure his ideas were reflected on the stage. A year later Micha
Bergese Productions offered me a contract to return to Ocean Village and begin a
second contract that then got extended into the winter of 2008-9 with another six new
and explosive shows. These shows ranged from Cafe 80’s a flash back to the 80’s
choreographed by Adrian Allsopp and challenging vocals from artists such as
Spandau Ballet, Human League all the way to Boy George. Another of the shows is
‘Street’ choreographed by Lucie Panchurst original choreographer of ‘We Will
Rock You.’ This show is an explosion onto the Street with great choreographed
numbers including ‘Lou Bega’s Mambo Number 5’ all the way to rapping ‘Go
Shopping’ by ‘Bran Van 3000’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Off The Wall.’ More of an
adult show called ‘Fever’ featuring Prince, Liberty X and James Brown a very sexy
and erotic show choreographed by Barbara Evans a well known teacher at Lanes
Dance College. Along with the shows, I get the freedom to perform warm up acts
before Alisha Bennet and better yet Jaki Graham on board which has given me a
real experience working with the band using sheet music. Upon returning from ship
life I joined three top UK function bands ‘The Floorshakers’ ‘Get Down Tonight’
and also helped form ‘Now 80’s’ I toured the UK for 11 months gaining a wealth of
experience and contacts and I am currently working around the UK on my solo gigs
with guitar. For more information take a look at www.glen-lee.com.
