contemplate amazing vineyard landscapes, while listening to the wind as it whispers through the vines
and surrender to the delightful smells and aromas of the earth, hills and valleys. The tour of the Alto
Douro Wine Region - listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO - leads us to the seductive town of
Pinhão. This small town, nestled on the right bank of the Douro river, is the centre of the Demarcated
Port Wine Region, where we encounter many spectacular estates that produce this fortified wine.

PLANALTO BARROSÃO TOUR
This unique landscape route winds its way through sparsely populated mountains and plateaus, including
the ancient medieval municipalities of Montalegre and Boticas. Mountainous and rugged, with
magnificent belvederes, from which we can see true "landscape works of art". The entire territory of
Montalegre lies at a high altitude and this has a decisive influence on the local weather. The Serra do
Larouco, which towers 1,527 meters above sea level, is the second highest in Portugal, and is populated
by abundant fauna. The territory is covered by forests and the locals have inherited a proud warrior
character from their Celtic ancestors.

VILA REAL CAR CIRCUIT TOUR
If you're a car enthusiast, this is the route for you! Created in 1931, in a pioneering act, the Vila Real Car
Circuit attracts drivers who seek the pleasure of high-adrenaline experiences. Located in the foothills of
the majestic slopes of the Serra do Marão, Vila Real is a small but lively town. It's the ideal starting point
for the famous Port Wine Route, and has one of Portugal's most beautiful manor houses - the splendid
Mateus Palace, built in the eighteenth century, with an impressive baroque façade. Alvão Natural Park is
also well worth a visit due to its pristine beauty and 7220-hectare protected landscape, including rare
species such as the Iberian wolf and the golden eagle.
