Calico Jack Rackham is remembered more for his
favorite clothing and his female crew members than for his mediocre accomplishments
as a pirate. His nickname,- Calico Jack is for the cheap and brightly colored cotton
clothes he was fond of.
One of the first references to him finds him as a quartermaster for Charles Vane's
operation out of New Providence, Bahamas in 1718. Late that year, Vane fired on a
French vessel he then discovered was a warship. Although he felt discretion and retreat
was the better part of valor, his crew disagreed, and the next day he was sent off after
Calico Jack was elected captain.

There were rum rations, usually referred as grog

beverages. The word originally referred to a drink
made with water or "small beer" (a weak beer) and
rum, which was introduced into the Royal Navy by
British Vice Admiral Edward Vernon on 21 August 1740. Modern versions of the drink
are often made with hot or boiling water, and sometimes include lemon juice, lime
juice, cinnamon or sugar to improve the taste. Rum with water, sugar and nutmeg was
known as bumboo and was more popular with pirates and merchantmen.

Edward Teach or Edward Thatch (c. 1680 –
November 22, 1718), better known as Blackbeard,
was a notorious English pirate in the Caribbean Sea
and western Atlantic during the early 18th century, a
period referred to as the Golden Age of Piracy. His
best known vessel was the Queen Anne's Revenge, which is believed to have run
aground near Beaufort Inlet in the Inner Banks of North Carolina in 1718. Blackbeard
often fought, or simply showed himself, wearing a big feathered tricorn, and having
multiple swords, knives, and pistols at his disposal. It was reported in A General History
of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pirates that he had hemp and lit
matches woven into his enormous black beard during battle to intimidate his enemies.
Blackbeard is often regarded as the archetypal image of the seafaring pirate.

Thomas Tew (?-1695), a.k.a. the Rhode Island
Pirate, was a 17th century English privateer turned
pirate. Although he embarked on only two major
piratical voyages, and met a bloody death on the
later journey, Tew pioneered the route which
became known as the Pirate Round. Many other
famous pirates, including Henry Every and William
Kidd, would follow in Tew’s path. Tew’s personal standard is said to have been a white
arm holding a sword on a black field, perhaps meaning "we are ready to kill you.” The
emblem of the German 13th SS division "Handschar" (Kroatische SS-FreiwilligenGebirgs-Division) substantially resembles the flag ascribed to Tew.
Pirate Walter Kennedy Flag: (sku 1974)
Size :

Walter Kennedy (died 19 July 1721) was an Irish
pirate who served as a crew member under Howell
Davis and Bartholomew Roberts. He was one of six
men, including Howell Davis, who mutinied, seized
the sloop Buck and took to piracy. Davis was
elected captain. Kennedy was with Davis on the
island of Principe when his party was ambushed by
the Portuguese, and was one of only two members of the shore party to be able to
escape back to the ship. With Davis dead, Bartholomew Roberts was elected as his
successor. When Roberts and forty of the crew chased a possible prize in a captured
sloop off the coast of Surinam, Kennedy was left in charge of Roberts' ship, the Rover,
and a large part of its crew. He took advantage of this to abandon Roberts and proclaim
himself Captain.
