Here - Reflections of Beauty
Thanks again to our partners Life can be an incredible journey. Part of that journey includes the discovery of one's identity. Society and culture can play a great part in the way a person understands and connects with their identity. With a a great variety of pressures and messages, sometimes discovering a person's own identity becomes a struggle, and embracing it may even seem impossible. But you can find Joy in your Identity Throughout life, a person will discover difficulty. Hardships and trials will be encountered in a number of places of life's journey. Sometimes those hardships and difficulties will be brought on by the individual. Many times those difficulties and trials will come from other sources. Regardless, those times may become overwhelming, like obstacles that cannot be overcome. But you can find Joy in those times of difficulty In the journey of life, people can fail you. We can fail ourselves. Circumstances may not always work out the way that you plan. Perspectives, relationships and goals can change. School and work will come and go. Material things fade and go out of style. But you can find Joy in Christ We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the LORD has done for them.” Yes, the LORD has done amazing things for us! What joy! After she pretended to drown to get out of swim team practice, Kristin's parents took her out of all sports and enrolled her in a variety of music, writing, and theater classes. Kristin grew up singing, playing piano, composing songs, writing stories, and performing in local musical theater productions. She also performed in commercials, voice overs, and the national tours of The Music Man and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. As a musician Kristin has composed the soundtrack for several short festival films and contributed a song to the Hallmark movie-turned-musical A Christmas Snow. She is also a sought-after piano and voice teacher and audition coach. During college Kristin's love for writing took center stage, and she graduated from Southern Methodist University at 20 with a degree in journalism, packed up her car, and headed to the city that all homeschool parents hope their kids end up: Los Angeles. Her clean, observant, occasionally alternative approach to comedy made her a favorite at clubs, churches, colleges, and coffee shops. (Really any venue beginning with the letter C.) Impacted by the struggles and stories shared with her from teen readers and young girls she encountered after shows, Kristin began leading bible studies for middle and high school age girls in her hometown. Her comedy segued into speaking for youth audiences and her first book, “The Smart Girl's Guide to God, Guys and the Galaxy,” co-written with Susie Shellenberger, was released last year. Her second book, "The Smart Girl's Guide to Mean Girls, Manicures, and God's Amazing Plan for Me" will be released in 2016. Mobile Apps Bibles: Olive Tree Bible!
