Pre-Travel £110 Deposit paid by 30th September: • • • • • • • • Payment plan to spread cost. Total cost of visit £340 Must ensure your child has a passport (if nationality is not British, need to inform us in good time so that we can make arrangements) Complete medical forms Provide contact details Ensure you apply for a EHIC 2 weeks prior to departure we will collect all documents €20 spending money- collected 2 weeks before departure 1st July Proposed Schedule: • Early Morning – meet on school playground- load up coach They will need: • Packed Lunch (Disposable bag) • A suitcase (They can carry themselves) • Hand Luggage – rucksack (With something to do!) • Electronic games brought at own risk (no mobile phones) • Up to £10 spending money for trip down They will need to hand in: • Any medication to staff (including travel sickness tablets) • Inhalers We will take: • All passports/EHICs/Euros • First Aid equipment etc… Travel Approximate travel times: • Departing St Teresa’s- time of departure not yet known, will be early morning. • A break for coffee (Oxford area) • Dover to Calais ferry crossing: 90 minutes • Calais to Le Pré Catelan: Less than 45 minutes by coach • Arrive during afternoon. • Reverse of route on return to school • Arriving St Teresa’s late evening -Monday 4th July • If we are running early/late the school will contact parents via school texting service. Le Pré Catelan Facilities • 10 minutes walk to beach – seaside town - Hardelot Plage Overview Friday 1st July Saturday 2nd July Sunday 3rd July Monday 4th July Tuesday 5th July Leave school – early morning (approx 6am) Etaples: The Commonwealth Forces Military Cemetery Musee du Mur de l’Atlantique Beach/Coastal Walk Children not required to attend school – authorised absence – allowing children and staff time to recover. Lunch Packed Lunch at the beach This WWI millitary cemetery, the largest of its kind in France, was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and commemorates 12,000 British and Commonwealth soldiers. La Boulangerie Maillard Visit to local bakery where children will make their own bread or croissants. Lunch- Packed Lunch before boarding Ferry Lunch Ferry Dover – Calais Visit to Le Touquet town90 minutes visit to ice cream shop. Arrive at Calais- transfer to Sandcastles and paddling centre – 45 mins in the sea. The Atlantic Wall Museum is inside the old German headquarter which was in charge of the batteries covering the entrance of the river Orne and the canal. The 52ft high concrete tower has been fully restored to make it look how it was on the 6th of June 1944. On site activity sessions: Pack up belongings Visit to a hypermarket- last minute gifts before home! - Ferry Calais – Dover Late afternoon 90 minutes Arrive at Dover – evening - Kite Building Sandcastle Building Competition -surivial (den buidling) Arrive at Le Pre Catalan, tour of centre- and unpack. Games on site. Evening Meal Walk to beach- games (football, cricket etc), evening prayers on the beach Dinner and evening activities Mini Olympicsbeach Walk along the coastline local to the centre. On the session participants will have the opportunity to explore the natural environment and to take part in tasks and games associated with it. Dinner and evening activities Disco Arrive back at school late evening.. Final arrival notified by telephone message Catering & dietary needs • 3 nutritious, balanced meals per day • Vegetarian option • Special diets catered for by prior arrangement – we will notify the centre of any pupil with an allergy. • The food was fantastic last year Staying safe!
