ORDER OF SERVICE Subject to change through the power and moving of the Holy Ghost! SUNDAY, AUGUST 28, 2016 Call to Worship and Processional Prayer Scripture Reading Praise and Worship Meet and Greet Announcements Ministry of the Choir Greetings from the Senior Pastor The Offertory Today’s Focus: Outreach Ministry of the Choir The Word of God Pastor Patricia Germany, 8 a.m. Elder Jonathon Wylie, 11:15 a.m. Bishop Lambert W. Gates, Sr., 7 p.m. Invitation to Christ Benediction SERMON NOTES MORNING HYMN SCRIPTURE READING I SEE A CRIMSON STREAM OF BLOOD 2 CORINTHIANS 10:1-5 On Cal’vry’s hill of sorrow Where sin’s demands were paid And rays of hope for tomorrow Across our path were laid 1 Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: Today no condemnation Abides to turn away My soul from His salvation He’s in my heart to stay When gloom and sadness whisper You’ve sinned no use to pray I look away to Jesus And He tells me to say And when we reach the portal Where life forever reigns The ransomed hosts’ grand final Will be this glad refrain Chorus I see a crimson stream of blood It flows from Calvary Its waves which reach the throne of God Are sweeping over me 2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; PHILIPPIANS 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ANNOUNCEMENTS The Leadership Council will meet today at 5:30 p.m. All leaders are asked to be in attendance and on time. Mt. Zion is pleased to present the implementation of a new church membership system called InFellowship. Through this secure and easy to use portal, you can make your tithe and offering gifts online, and will eventually be able to access and manage your own giving account. While you can still give through our current system, it will be phased out over the course of the next year as the new system becomes completely integrated. Representatives will be in the foyer for your assistance on Sunday, September 4. For more information you may contact Trustee Sheryl Jennings at 317-5491200 ext. 136 or [email protected]. Registration is underway for the C.E.O. (Confident, Educated, Optimistic Leaders) Retreat to be held October 8 at IUPUI. Girls ages 10-15 will learn the basics of leadership in a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Seating is limited, so register today and see details at ceo16.eventbrite.com. Mt. Zion’s Fresh Anointing Conference and 94th church Anniversary is now just one month away! This is our signature event of the year and everyone is encouraged to participate. Registration is open online and in the foyer. By popular demand, the early bird rate of just $30 has been extended to September 1. A group rate is also offered at $200.00 for groups of ten. Visit mtzionchurch.org to register. This year’s Fresh Anointing Conference will feature Bishops Noel Jones, Adolphus Cast, Horace Smith, and J. Drew Sheard as our worship service speakers. Our expert facilitators include Bishop Rufus Sanders, Lady Nancy Gates, Brother Jermaine Anderson, Evangelist Virginia Bouie, Lady Barbara Golder, Deacon Terry Morris, and Evangelist Sandra Riley. These great men and women of God will bring years of experience and success to impart wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual insight into all who will receive. Attention Mt. Zion members: if you can help during Fresh Anointing in the areas of registration, security, facilities clean -up, hospitality, or Culinary Arts, please sign up in the foyer or online where you will learn more about how you can be used. Additional hands will help our conference run much more efficiently for a more enjoyable experience for all.
