Kiyoshi TOGASHI is a New York City photographer
who specializes in commercial advertising, still life,
editorial and fine art photography. He grew up in
rural Northern Japan and is the 11th generation of
rice farmers. He graduated from Nihon University,
Tokyo, with a BFA in photography and soon afterwards came to the United States to embark on his full
photographic career.

STYLE
TOGASHI’s signature style is a blend of his Japanese aesthetics and sensitivities
executed with a Western twist. He factors a rich use of color, intense blacks,
and clean whites.

TOGASHI’s studio is a fully equipped 3000
square foot loft/studio located on a high floor of
a boutique building within the heart of New York
City’s Flatiron District.
The studio is a state of the art digital studio
with a complete work flow station and is fully
equipped and always ready for large format film
photography. The studio has high 10.5’ ceilings,
fully equipped kitchen, large comfortable client
area, private reception area, high speed wireless
internet access, and a private bathroom with a
shower.
It is convenient and accessible to all Union Square
subways, PATH trains, and a short distance to Penn
Station, Port Authority, and Grand Central Station.

ABOUT
Outside of studio life, TOGASHI had the extraordinary
opportunity to participate as a race car driver of a 1982
yellow stretch Corvette in the 1992 motorsport event “One
Lap of America.” With Rocky Aoki, Benihana Restaurant
founder, they circumvented the United States in ten days,
driving from race track to race track for time trials, all the
while respecting speed limits.
TOGASHI is an avid traveler who has traveled throughout
Central and South America, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
He is married and has two daughters.
