Letter From the

Dear Chamber members,
It is hard to believe we are in August
already as summer always seems to
go too fast.
The annual Hometown Hog Roast
was a huge success again this year
and is becoming one of our favorite
events. We want to thank everyone
that help support this event and
the Hometown Festival week of
events.

PLATTEVILLE REGIONAL CHAMBER
The salute to volunteers at this
year’s Party in the Park was
especially gratifying as we were
able to recognize the volunteers
and emergency relief workers that
assisted after the June tornados.
There is still a lot of work to be done
but the efforts of these people
gave our community a great jump
start towards recovery.
Thank you to QueenB Radio for
hosting our July Business After
Hours.
If you have an interest in getting
more involved in the Platteville
Regional Chamber of Commerce
please stop by the office to see
how you can help.
Sincerely,
Aaron Cullen

Good Morning Platteville
M
PLATTEVILLE
The August theme
will be “Education”
The Chamber’s new program
“Good Morning Platteville” has
been very well received. We’ve
had some great presentations
and are learning more and more
about issues and events in our
community.
This is proving
to be a great networking
opportunity and there are always
complimentary coffee and fresh
sweet rolls!
Our next program is scheduled
for Thursday, August 28th at
7:30AM at Take 2 Restaurant.
What we will be hearing about
is our schools and we will have
representatives from our public
schools, UW-Platteville and
Southwest Technical College on
hand to give updates. Education
is a top priority for us as a
community and this program
will enable us to hear what’s
regional chamber
better together
going on - new programs, new
staff and issues they may be
facing. Please plan to attend the
next “Good Morning Platteville”
program to show your support of
our education programs here in
Platteville.
Next “Good Morning
Plattevillle”
Thursday, August 28, 7:30 a.m.
Take 2 Restaurant
“Good Morning Platteville” is
held the fourth Thursday of every
month at alternating locations.
In September, we will be learning
about Southwest Health Center’s
new addition and meet some of
the doctors and staff. Please plan
to join us.
If you have a suggestion for
future programming, please call
the Chamber and we will relay it
on to our Education Committee.

Honkamp Krueger’s Client Patronage
App connects employees with clients
This spring, HK launched its Client
Patronage App, compatible with Android
and Apple products. What exactly does
this app do? It allows employees to
search for client stores based on category,
keyword or location. It then gives them
immediate directions to the client’s
business. Finally, employees submit their
spending and take pictures of receipts to
earn prizes from HK. Since the app was
released five months ago, reported 2014
spending was already at $1 million dollars
with a 43% increase in monthly receipts.

Notice: The Platteville Dairy Days parade is run as a fun, entertaining, and family-oriented event. It is not meant as a forum for
individuals and groups wishing to make political statements. As such, the Dairy Days committee reserves the right to refuse entry
into the parade any unit which it deems objectionable because of any type of non-family graphic or vocal representation. Units
having live animals walking on the street are encouraged, but for the convenience of marching bands in competition, those animals
will be placed in the parade after the last band.
Competition is important for the high school bands and, as such, no interference in their performance is allowed by other units.
No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed in the parade
The throwing of candy or other objects from parade units to bystanders is strictly forbidden for safety reasons. Persons may walk
along side of the curb and hand out items, but do so at their own risk. Any parade unit disobeying this safety rule will be asked to
stop and/or be pulled from the parade.
