There is still a lot of work to be done but the efforts of these people gave our community a great jump start towards recovery. Thank you to QueenB Radio for hosting our July Business After Hours. We’ve had some great presentations and are learning more and more about issues and events in our community. This is proving to be a great networking opportunity and there are always complimentary coffee and fresh sweet rolls! Our next program is scheduled for Thursday, August 28th at 7:30AM at Take 2 Restaurant. What we will be hearing about is our schools and we will have representatives from our public schools, UW-Platteville and Southwest Technical College on hand to give updates. Education is a top priority for us as a community and this program will enable us to hear what’s regional chamber better together going on - new programs, new staff and issues they may be facing. Please plan to attend the next “Good Morning Platteville” program to show your support of our education programs here in Platteville. Nearly four ton tons of computer equipment were donated to Goodwill during a recent collection drive held in Platteville. Goodwill accepts donations of working and nonworking computer equipment year round, free of charge. The recent collection drive was held in an effort to increase awareness about the program. Honkamp Krueger’s Client Patronage App connects employees with clients This spring, HK launched its Client Patronage App, compatible with Android and Apple products. What exactly does this app do? It allows employees to search for client stores based on category, keyword or location. It then gives them immediate directions to the client’s business. Finally, employees submit their spending and take pictures of receipts to earn prizes from HK. Since the app was released five months ago, reported 2014 spending was already at $1 million dollars with a 43% increase in monthly receipts. Public Trail Meeting set for Aug. 21 All Local Businesses and General Public are invited to an August 21, 2014 8AM meeting at the Mound City Bank Conference Room in their Drive Up Facility. The Platteville Community Arboretum and the City Manager will be providing an update on the Moving Platteville Outdoors Rountree Trail Paving, Lighting and Enhancement project specifically sharing information on concerns about using tax money for the project, annual trail maintenance costs, trail width, trash pickup, etc. This would be opportune for each of you to hear the status of the trail project. Local executive earns top healthcare management credential M PLATTEVILLE regional chamber better together Southwest Health Chief Financial Officer Matthew Streeter, recently earned distinction as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation’s foremost professional society for health care leaders. Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. In fact, only 9,100 healthcare executives hold this distinction. To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional/ community involvement. Units having live animals walking on the street are encouraged, but for the convenience of marching bands in competition, those animals will be placed in the parade after the last band.
