marque highlighted the move away from the
internal combustion engine (ICE) with plans to

Thunder Power’s proprietary Battery
Management System is arguably the most
important and valuable part of the battery pack
– and of the entire vehicle.
We have also developed an advanced,
integrated Thermal Management System.
TMS controls heating, ventilation and airconditioning, as well as drivetrain and battery
temperature.
The Modularised Chassis System is a complete
contrast to standard industry practice. Until
now, components such as the engine, gear box
and fuel tank need to be considered before
styling can be completed.
The efficient circuit design recaptures dissipated
heat from electronic devices (e.g. powertrain
and battery system) and uses it for cabin
heating.
MCS represents a far simpler approach. It
consists of three modules - front, mid and rear
- which can be applied to cars with different
styling, different lights and widths, and different
ride heights.
BMS prolongs the battery cycle life by
modulating and monitoring temperature
range, battery cell voltage limits and power
output.
Designed, developed and built by our team
of experienced engineers, the battery pack is
lighter, smaller and more cost-efficient than
existing systems. Hardware and software both
benefit from effective and smart design.
The pack offers the ability to control over
7,500 batteries, with a unique modular design
allowing individual battery modules to be
replaced, rather than the whole unit. The charge
balancing also helps to slow battery ageing and
degradation.

The system also includes environmental
temperature monitoring. This manages the
switch to different circulation loops, ensuring
optimal performance. It also activates a preheating function in cold climates.
Recycling of thermal energy, improved heat
exchanger airflow and heat dissipation all
improve the efficiency of the electric motor.
The system reduces development time, costs
and vehicle weight, while enhancing stiffness/
rigidity.
Based on the modules already created for the
sedan model, Thunder Power’s future line-up
will benefit from significantly lower investment
costs.
