Paula is the Director of Financial Services at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 where she manages the fiscal operations of the
Intermediate Unit. She is responsible for financial reporting, budget development, system-wide accounting operations, cash flow and
investment activities, in-house computer support for the financial software, as well as maintaining adequate internal controls over the
fiscal operations. Prior experience: Controller at Dickman-Sargeant Energy Corp; Staff Accountant at Klatzkin & Company, CPA’s.
Follow Your Dreams, You Can Do Anything You Focus on and Work Hard For - Kristie Finnan
Kristie is a Registered Dietitian/Licensed Nutritionist who has a passion for healthy kids foods. She is a Nutrition
Educator focusing on one-on-one nutrition counseling, school education, community and private nutrition presentations. She is the
Creative Director and Editor for two Websites- www.DivaDietitian.com & www.KidsLoveFood.com (launching soon). Kristies also have
several clients in social media and marketing consulting/coaching.

Antoinette is a forensic chemist in Philadelphia and the CEO/Founder of the Association of Women in Forensic Science, Inc (AWIFS).
AWIFS provides forensic science workshops, mentoring, and outreach to youth and professionals.

JoAnn is a former marketing teacher, with a B.S. from the College of New Jersey and Masters Degree in Professional
Communications from La Salle University. She serves as the BCIU Director of Strategic Services. This position encompasses three
areas:
1. Director of Communications for our 1,400 BCIU employees.
2. Executive Director of the BCIU Education Foundation.
3. Director of Comprehensive and Strategic Planning for School Districts and Organizations.
Veterinary Medicine Careers for Women - Laura Weiss
Dr. Weis graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 with the highest combined standing in
both clinical and classroom work. She then moved to Bucks County to practice small animal medicine and surgery, purchasing
Doylestown Veterinary Hospital in 2002, and then taking over Holiday House Pet Resort in 2004. Dr. Weis graduated from Cornell
University with honors in biology in 1991. Dr. Weis’ clinical focus is in the area of pet nutrition and obesity. She lectures nationally to
veterinary students about practice management and career choices. In her free time she enjoys bee keeping, gardening and
volunteering at her children's school. She shares her home with her husband, three sons, dogs Mirabelle and Gigi, and two cats Artemis
and Aloysius.
Programming with Small Basic - Lindsay Lindstrom
Lindsay is an Academic Developer Evangelist with Microsoft, based in Pennsylvania. In 2005, she graduated
with a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. During her time at USC, she worked with ABC
and Wells Fargo supporting their web properties. In her current role she educates, excites, and empowers students and
faculty about technology and its career possibilities, and she loves her job!
Women in Medicine - A Pediatric Peek -Dr. Sarah Macdonald
Dr. Macdonald is a Pediatrician at CHOP Highpoint. She graduated from Wisconsin College of Medicine and interned at
St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. She was appointed Board Certification by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2004.
Math and Technology – Go Figure -Christine DiPaulo
Christine teaches Digital Media Arts and Design at Jenkintown Middle School/ High School. She is a secondary
certified math teacher, with Business Education certification and is a K12 certified Instructional Technology Specialist.
She previously taught mathematics at The Center for Arts and Technology. In 2009 Christine became an Apple

Introduction to Optometry - Shannon M. Burgess, OD
A 2000 graduate of Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Burgess has 10 years of experience in eye care. During her training, she
achieved both academic and clinical honors. She traveled with the Student Optometric Service to Humanity organization to Guatemala,
where she and her student colleagues provided vision and eye health screenings and dispensed donated eyeglasses to hundreds of
local residents. She completed her residency in Primary Eye Care at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. After completing her residency in
2001, she has worked in private practice as well as a multi-discipline group practice. She has managed patients' pre- and post-surgical
care following LASIK, cataract, and glaucoma procedures.
Introduction to Meteorology - Caitlin Roth
Caitlin Roth joined the FOX 29 news team in January, 2012. Prior to coming to Philadelphia, she was a meteorologist and midday news
anchor at WOWT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Omaha, NE, for three years. For a year prior to that, she was an on-air meteorologist for
Accuweather, Inc., in State College, PA. She’s also worked for “Weather or Not,” and CNET in Centre County, PA. A graduate of
Pennsylvania State University, Caitlin grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs.
The Life of a Land Use Planner - Candace Kanaplue
Candace is a land use planner at a private consulting firm. Her job is to help communities build attractive, safe and healthy places to live.
She examines environmental and social aspects to help create attractive, healthy places to live by implementing rules and standards for
development of houses, retail establishments and other uses that can be found in a town or city.

Careers in Fashion, Product Design & Merchandising - Catherine Fox Byers, Cynthia Golembuski and Lisa Hayes
Catherine Fox Byers is an Assistant Professor in Drexel University’s Design & Merchandising program. Prior to joining Drexel, she was
Director of Marketing and Communications for Dansko, Inc., for seven years. Her career includes more than 20 years in marketing and
communications and 10 years at Writers, Inc., where she served as Vice President. She holds an MA in Public Affairs Journalism from
the American University, and a BA from Barnard College.
Cynthia Golembuski is an Assistant Teaching Professor and serves as the Fashion Design Associate Program Director at Drexel
University. She does freelance fashion illustration and spent 10 years designing & merchandising outerwear for one of the largest
outerwear manufacturers in the U.S. before coming to Drexel. She holds a BS in Apparel Textiles with a minor in Art from North Dakota
State University and a MS in Fashion Design from Drexel University.
Lisa Hayes is an Assistant Professor in Drexel University’s Fashion Design program. She designs on a freelance basis for fashion and
home furnishings companies and has over 18 years of experience as a designer in the fashion industry working with companies like Liz
Claiborne, Albert Nipon, and Mimi Maternity. She holds a B.F.A. from Syracuse University in Fashion Design and attended Central Saint
Martins College of Art and Design in London.
Designing Drugs by Bits and Bytes - Doree Sitkoff
Doree works in Drug Discovery at a pharmaceutical company, where she uses computer assisted drug design methods to help discover
new drugs. She models small molecules interacting with their target human proteins. Her goal is to provide ideas for chemical
modifications to the molecules that could improve their interactions with the protein, or other properties, so that they can potentially
become drugs.
Legal Software: Exploring the needs of a niche market - Veronica Bradly
Veronica is a legal software specialist with specific training on a widely used product called iManage. iManage is a document
management system used throughout the legal community to help users organize, collaborate, search for and store their documents.
She is trained on both the user interface as well as on the back end. She works with a large law firm to take all of their old documents
that have been stored randomly on the network file share and transfer them into iManage with the goal of better organization,
collaboration and the ability to search on fields like author, date created, etc.

Nancy is a Research Package Engineer for McNeil Consumer Healthcare. She is responsible for testing associated with product/
package compatibility, Child Resistant/Senior Friendly packaging and shipping/distribution testing.

Casey is a licensed doctor of chiropractic. She works mainly with patients who present with neurological, muscular, and skeletal
pathologies.

Lisa Farnin is a Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs Manager at IBM, interested in fostering an interest in science, technology,

As an Instructional Technology Integrator with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22, Kurt works to integrate technologies, such as
computers, hardware and software, into the classroom. He provides professional development to administrators and teachers in the
