Page 16 RACEWAY NEWS, April 3, 2005 PHOTO HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 3RD ANNUAL EAST COAST SUPERCHARGING CORVETTE CHALLENGE BANQUET PRESENTED BY CCW RACEWAY PARK – The 3rd Annual East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge Banquet presented by CCW was held at the Ramada Inn on February 19. Originally scheduled for January 22, the banquet was rescheduled due to a blizzard. John Panuzzo, on behalf of Debbie Ramsden, presented the Meticulous Racer Award to Neil Fine in memory of David Ramsden. John McCartney photo. RACEWAY PARK – Tim Blair, of the Raceway Park Security Staff, presented Mariana Trieschmann with a plaque in appreciation for her assistance with Toys for Tots & Teens benefiting St. Peter’s Church in Jersey City. Not pictured is Jaymie Shuleski. Both girls have worked very hard selling raffle tickets at each of the East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge events. Through the support of the ECS Corvette Challenge racers and the dedication of Mariana and Jaymie, many families enjoyed a very special holiday season. Thanks to all of you! John McCartney photo RACEWAY PARK – The East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge Club Cup was presented to the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley for the second year in a row. ECS Corvette Challenge coordinators Edgar Perez and Bob Trieschmann along with Raceway Park’s David Napp present the coveted trophy to many of the CCDV members. John McCartney photo. RACEWAY PARK – The Spectrum Voice & Data Rookie of the Year award was presented to Rick White, who made the hike down from New Hampshire to race in New Jersey at most of the events. The points race for the Rookie award went down to the last race of the season. RACEWAY PARK – 2004 ECS Corvette Challenge points champion Rob Farley and points champion runner up John Panuzzo receive their awards from John Policastro of United Racing, Chris Coriell of East Coast Supercharging, and Raceway’s David Napp. Thanks to Rob and John for making this points chase one of our most exciting to date! RACEWAY PARK – A very special thank you to the East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge coordinators Edgar Perez, Bob Trieschmann, and Edgar Perez as they receive their appreciation awards from Raceway’s David Napp. Not pictured is coordinator John Mackey. In addition to Edgar’s coordinator responsibilities, he also built and maintains the official website of the ECS Corvette Challenge, corvettechallenge.info, and has created a DVD featuring much coverage of many of their events. John McCartney photo. RACEWAY PARK – United Racing class winners have a choice to receive a trophy each time they win round one or participate in the United Racing Trophy Upgrade Program. RACEWAY PARK – The Vette Doctors Pro 8 Shootout, a race run within the East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge for the 8 quickest Corvettes, also had a very tight points chase all season long. These heads up racers gave all of us some very exciting racing to watch every time they competed. Points champion Mike Mitchell and points champion runner up Paul Major receive their plaques from Carmen Melillo of The Vette Doctors and Raceway’s David Napp. In addition to the plaque, points champion Mike Mitchell also received a $500 gift certificate for the Hot Rod Garage Line from Furn-a-kit.com. RACEWAY PARK – The Brian Miller Award, an award created to recognize Brian’s idea to start the Corvette Challenge, is presented to the person or persons that go above and beyond for the series. RACEWAY PARK – The 2004 East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge points champion, Rob Farley, is pictured with his lovely wife Linda as Rob accepts his champion’s trophy. The points champion was not determined until the final event. Great job by Rob, who raced in the third event after undergoing surgery just days before. He went on to win that race on his quest for his first ECS Corvette Challenge championship. John McCartney photo. RACEWAY PARK – 2004 East Coast Supercharging Corvette Challenge top ten racers are presented their jackets and trophies from Raceway’s David Napp, ECS CC coordinator Bob Trieschmann, United Racing’s John Policastro and Chris Coriell of East Coast Supercharging. The top ten points finishers are Rob Farley, John Panuzzo, Vic Gandhi, Ralph Savarese, Ellis Gray, Joe Signore, John Hadyniak,Al Conner, Robert Sebrowski, and Rick White.
