On leaving tower, take R-hand
path on far (north) side of
summit. It goes downhill to stile
and small gate signed
‘Loggerheads’, where you walk
down through heather with
forest R. At footpath signpost,
bear R on bridleway and take a
gate across track. Ignore
R-hand paths and enjoy wide
views as you walk downhill.
After a gate, pass through
trees, noting remains of a
World War Two aeroplane
decoy centre on L. Join a track
and go R through gate to
eventually emerge on lane.
4 8.6km/5¼ miles
Go L downhill and cross another
lane to hidden stile. Follow
enclosed path to field and head
downhill to stile above house.
Cross track to small gate and
follow path to footbridge over
River Alyn. Take path L to Leete
Path where you go R. Ignore
R-hand path and cross lane to
continue on track. Just before
house, take L-hand path and
continue past kennels to
Loggerheads Country Park.
Follow broad track ahead,
ignoring wooden footbridge
over river, and cross stone
bridge to car park.
