various styling venues, but last year I went back
to operating my own salon.

My daughter Amanda and I opened Bella’s Closet in October 2011. We are a
unique ladies consignment boutique specializing in trendy, fashionable, new and
nearly new clothing and accessories. Even though we have a pretty good
location in the Publix Shopping Center on Walsingham Road, we knew we
needed to advertise to keep a steady stream of customers coming through the
door. We’ve advertised consistently in the Seminole Beacon, Largo Leader and
Belleair/Beach Bee and our investment has paid for itself since the first day. Just
the other day a customer walked in carrying the ad the first day it published and
made a large purchase that more than paid for the ad. We’re amazed at how
many people come into the store with the ad even though we don’t run coupons.
The ads have also brought us very valuable consigners who enable us to provide
the highest quality fashions for our customers. Customers have stated “I drive by
here everyday but didn’t know you were here until I saw your ad in my
newspaper”. We know the ads have brought us customers we may have never
met if we had relied on word of mouth alone.

Looking For ...

steady response to my ads I was lucky enough to find the Palm Harbor/East
Lake Beacon newspaper. After only my first ad in the paper I received

My husband and I have been in the furniture business all our lives and
have owned stores all over the bay area, in Tampa, Clearwater & St.
Petersburg. Most recently we came back and put down roots again in
Clearwater with the 2009 opening of Design Furniture Outlet new and used
consignments at 1928 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. We have tried many different
forms of advertising from magazines to coupon books, direct mail, etc., and
we have found that we get the absolute best response from our local,
community Tampa Bay Newspapers. We’ve
been advertising in the
Clearwater Beacon, Belleair Bee, Largo Leader and many special sections
for a few years now and every time we run a Business Showcase
advertorial, we have seen increased calls, more customers in the store and
