experience in the design and construction of amphibious
machinery.
Especially its practical experience in working with this machinery
makes Waterking one of the most experienced manufacturers
of amphibious excavators in the world.
All of our machinery is developed, tested and adapted to the
most severe and difficult conditions for working in wetlands,
deltas and poor load-bearing terrains. Our subsidiary Knoop
Baggerwerken continuously monitors the machines for
performance, efficiency and reliability. As a result Waterking,
continues to innovate and optimise.
All products of Waterking are manufactured in conformity with the

Amphibious excavators - New Generation
The Waterking NG (New Generation) amphibious excavator
has been developed for operating under poor load-bearing
conditions and was engineered and built in-house. The excavator
is designed for operating on land as well as in water, which
makes it highly efficient. The machine crosses swamps, ditches,
lakes and waterways with ease. It is impossible for the excavator
to sink. The machine does not cause any damage to fragile nature or
soil structure because of its very low ground pressure. The
amphibious excavators have a 360° operating radius (also with the
additional pontoons mounted on).
The machines are delivered throughout the world. The materials
are of high quality as result of which the excavators are safe,
durable and highly reliable. Waterking New Generation pontoons
are made from Cor-Ten steel which is till 8 times more corrosion
resistance than normal steel. All wear parts are made of Hardox.
Pontoons
The basic excavators weigh from 8 to 36 tonnes and have a boom
length of 6.5 to 20 meters. The undercarriage is manufactured in the
Netherlands. The pontoons are equipped with broad tracks to
maximise the grip on the ground. The undercarriage consists of 2
pontoons connected together by a frame. Any type of upper structure
(new or used) can be connected on the pontoons, for instance:
Caterpillar, Hitachi, Doosan, Komatsu, Volvo, JCB, Takeuchi, Yanmar,
etcetera. It is also possible to purchase only the undercarriage
(pontoons).

Operating depth
The amphibious excavator can perform practically any water works
up to a depth of 1 .1 - 1 .5 meters: dredging, positioning of sheet piling,
salvage operations, clearing trees, earth- and delta works. With
additional pontoons till 3-5 m.
Transport
Adjustable
The excavators with an adjustable undercarriage can be transported in one piece. Because of the
adjustable undercarriage, the undercarriage can be hydraulically adjusted without dismantling.
During transport the WK 90 NG - AS and WK 1 00 NG - AS have a width of 3.00 metres. The WK 90
NG - AW and WK 1 50 NG - A have a width of 3.50 meters. Therefore these excavators are easy to
transport.
Fixed
The fixed version is also easy to transport. It takes less than an hour to build and dismantle it. The
entire machine can be transported on two flatbed trailers. The transport width and height fall within
2.80 and 3.30 metres.
The transport measurements of the fixed and the adjustable versions fall within the normal transport
dimensions. There is no special permit required.

Additional pontoons
The Waterking can be equipped with additional pontoons fitted with hydraulic spud poles, which
makes it possible to work in water depths up to about 5 metres. Without additional pontoons it is
possible to work to a maximum water depth of 1 .1 - 1 .5 metres (depends on model).

Transporters
The Waterking amphibious transporter is a multifunctional machine, which is designed and built
for transportion of equipment and materials in poor load bearing terrains, like wetlands. The
machine is suitable for operations on dry land and wetlands. The machine consists of an
undercarriage (pontoons) and a upper structure (cab, engine and platform).
Undercarriage
The machine is designed and built in-house. The pontoons, which are also used for the
amphibious excavators, form the basis of the transporter. The machine is equipped with a
tremendous pulling force, which makes it able to ride on a slope under its own power. In addition,
the pontoons have sufficient buoyancy and the ground pressure per cm² is very low.
Transport
The upper structure (cabin and engine) can be transported separately from the undercarriage
(pontoons). The side plateau can be hydraulically folded so that the machine fits within the
maximum transport width. While operating, the side plateaus are folded down to increase the
deck surface for work purposes.
The assembly of the machine is very easy. When the pontoons are placed, the upper structure
can be simply mounted. The assembly of the machine can be done within one hour.

Design
Waterking attach a great deal of importance to the quality of our products and services. The
machines are developed and built entirely under our own management. Which has the
advantage that each machine can be tailored to customer requirements. Each customer is
individually informed and briefed so that the right machinery is used for the right activities.
With every customer request Waterking makes an assessment whether the amphibious
excavator needs to be adjusted to customer requirements. For specific requirements a new
design (3D drawing) or construction calculation will be made before the machine is put into
production. The amphibious equipment is custom made and therefore every machine of
Waterking is unique.
Examples of certain adjustments to customer specifications are:

Extending booms to improve the working range (from standard to semi-long reach or
super long reach)
•
Moving the counterweight for better weight/balance distribution of the machine (optional
platform including fuel tank)

Production
Waterking produces at three different locations in the Netherlands. The undercarriages
(pontoons) for the amphibious excavators and transporters are built on location in Zuidbroek.
The booms are modified/extended in Boxmeer. And in our workshop in Tynaarlo the machines
are assembled, tested and prepared for transport. At request of the customer we can provide
instruction on location. Handling an amphibious excavator requires specific field knowledge.

Maintenance
The lifespan of the equipment will be prolonged by timely
and correct maintenance. In addition to development and
production, we also offer a global service by Waterking
Netherlands (Western Europe) or through one of our

Service
Waterking has a wide after sales network. The parts for
undercarriages (pontoons) are available from stock.
Spare parts for all types of upper structure are available
