Artist ensembles of the Solstice Parade
• Stage (1) • Stage (2) fremontartscouncil.org • Stage (3) Fremont Arts Council Rounds 22 Years of Community Development Through the Arts. The Fremont Arts Council is proud to present the 22nd Annual Solstice Parade, featuring more than 56 community ensembles in a grand display of joyous street theater. The Solstice Parade is composed entirely of volunteer “community groups”, friends, and families. Lead by both amateur and professional artists, they start creating their ensembles four to five weeks before the parade happens. In the spirit of community development through the arts, most of the ensembles seek new participants to join them each year. It is easy to get involved, meet new people, and learn a new art skill like papier mache’, stilt-walking, or float construction. Participation is free and everyone is welcome to join in. Plan to get involved next year by visiting Fremont Arts Council on-line at www.fremontartscouncil.org to learn about parade workshops and ensembles.
