BACKGROUND
Wilmington Christian School (WCS) is a college preparatory school serving 462 students in Pre-K through 12th grade. Since
its founding in 1946, WCS has been firmly rooted in the principles of Biblical Christianity. Our parents come from over 100
local churches (including: Baptist, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and non-denominational from DE, PA, MD,
and NJ) entrusting their children’s educational future to WCS. We are located in Hockessin on a beautiful 15 acre campus;
11 miles from Wilmington, DE; 8 miles from Newark, DE; and only 4 miles from the Pennsylvania border. WCS is a board
operated corporation, with oversight provided by a self-perpetuating, appointed Board of Trustees.
MISSION
Wilmington Christian School provides a Christ-centered, challenging academic program with instruction based on the
Biblical view of God and the world. WCS teaches, influences, and encourages each student to effectively integrate
Biblical truth into his/her daily life and to impact the culture for Christ.
ACCREDITATION & MEMBERSHIPS
WCS is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, we are members of the
Mid-Atlantic Christian School Association (MACSA), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and the
Delaware Association of Independent Schools (DAIS). WCS offers a broad range of academic and co-curricular activities
supporting a rigorous, yet well-rounded, education. WCS students routinely receive local and state recognition for excellence in academics, athletics, music, fine arts, and community service.
