• Small children can fall through the leg opening.
• Child could suffer head injuries or become entangled in
straps and strangulation could occur.
• Adjust leg openings to smallest possible size.
• Only use this carrier for children weighing between 8 lb. and
25 lb.
• Child must face towards you until he or she can hold head upright.
Failure to follow this warning could cause death, serious injury or
permanent disability to your child.

• DO protect your child from the harmful effects of the sun.
• If your child has special needs, consult with a physician before
using Kelty carriers. This carrier may not be appropriate for special
needs children.

WARNING
THIS CARRIER MAY AFFECT YOUR
COORDINATION AND BALANCE
• Your balance may be adversely affected due to your movements
or the movements of child.
• DO NOT use the carrier while skating, biking or engaging in any
activity that will affect your balance.
• DO NOT bend at the waist when using the carrier. Bend at the
knees to avoid pitching the child forward.
• DO take special care when putting on or removing the carrier.
• Kelty frame carriers are to be used by adults only.
CHILD FACING IN
The harness system of the Wallaby is designed to
distribute the weight of your infant throughout your
back, reducing strain on your neck and shoulders.
To assure proper fit and comfort, take time to fit the
harness to the adult prior to use.
A. Unbuckle the two side-release buckles located
on the left side of the carrier (Fig. 1).
Failure to follow this warning could cause death, serious injury or
permanent disability to your child.
WARNING
DO NOT USE A DAMAGED CARRIER
• DO check to assure all buckles, snaps, straps, and adjustments
are secure before each use.
• DO check the condition of carrier before each use.
• DO NOT use carrier if the fabric, straps or buckles are damaged.
• DO NOT use the carrier if the carrier is in any way damaged or
defective. Call Kelty Customer Support staff; toll free at

• Keep instructions for future use.
TIPS
NOTE:
Small children can
fall through leg

sure the siderelease buckles
(located above the
leg holes for the
infant) are
engaged properly,
and the sides of
the fabric seat run
through the side
loops.

B. Put the harness on by slipping your arms
through the shoulder straps (Fig. 2).
NOTE: Double check that all webbing and
straps are lying flat and are NOT twisted.
Failure to follow this warning could cause death, serious injury or
permanent disability to your child.
CARE AND CLEANING
• Your carrier is machine washable.
• Machine wash separately in cold
water, on gentle cycle, using
mild detergent.
• Hang carrier to air dry.
• Do not use bleach or liquid
detergent.

The waistbelt can
be adjusted for a

waistbelt, slide the
waistbelt in or out
through the plastic
3-bar slider until
the waistbelt fits
snug, but not tight.
C. Adjust the length of the shoulder straps so
that the waistbelt attachment rests comfortably just below your rib cage. To adjust the
height of the harness, slide the shoulder strap
up or down, through the plastic 3-bar slider
(Fig. 3) to the proper height.

F. Fasten the side-release buckle located on the
left shoulder strap of the carrier (Fig. 5).
Make sure the buckle is properly engaged.
DANGER
• Fall or strangulation hazard.
• Small children

D. Repeat step C with the other shoulder strap.
• Follow instructions for proper
fit and function
of carrier.

E. Fasten the large side-release buckle located at
the waistbelt of the carrier (Fig. 4). Make sure
the buckle is properly engaged.

G. Before loading the infant, make sure that all
buckles are properly engaged. Loosen the
black webbing straps to allow for easier
loading and unloading of the infant.
H. Lift the infant to your chest. With the baby
facing you, slide the infant into the carrier,
making sure the infants legs go through the
proper leg openings in the seat (Fig 6).

I. Tighten upper section of the infant pod by
pulling down on the pieces of black webbing
straps, at the upper attachment points (Fig. 7).

J. Tighten the seat side straps by pulling toward
each other (Fig. 8). The leg openings should
be adjusted to provide a snug fit around child.
DANGER
• Child must face towards you until he or she can hold head upright.
A. Unbuckle the two side-release buckles located over the infant leg
openings (Fig. 9,A). Make note of these side-release buckles and the
fabric loops (Fig. 9,B).

K. Check that all buckles are securely fastened,
and that your infant is comfortably positioned
in the carrier.

B. Fold the infant seat down (Fig. 10) and thread the side-release buckles
through the fabric loops on the infant seat. Re-fasten buckles, to hold the
infant seat in place (Fig. 10, inset).
D. Fasten the large side-release buckle located at
the waistbelt of the carrier (Fig. 12,A) and the
side-release buckle located on the left shoulder
strap of the carrier (Fig. 12,B). Make sure the
buckles are properly engaged.

C. With the two side-release buckles (located on the left side of the carrier) unbuckled, put the harness on by slipping your arms through the
shoulder straps (Fig. 11).

E. Before loading the infant, make sure that all
buckles are properly engaged. Loosen the
black webbing straps to allow for easier
loading and unloading of the infant.
F. Lift the infant to your chest. With the baby
facing away from you, slide the infant into
the carrier, making sure the infants legs go
through the proper leg openings in the seat
(Fig 13).

workmanship to the original buyer for the lifetime of the product. Since
no Kelty product is indestructible, the warranty does not cover defects
attributable to or resulting from normal wear and tear, natural hazard
damage, abuse, alteration, or UV damage. Service under this warranty
is available to the original purchaser by returning the product to any
authorized Kelty K.I.D.S. dealer, with proof of purchase, or to our
Customer Service Department (return authorization required) by calling
1-866-349-7225 (866-FIX-PACK).
If, after inspection, Kelty determines a defect exists in the material or
workmanship of the product (not caused by normal wear and tear), we
will repair or replace it, at Kelty’s discretion, free of charge, without
delay. This warranty gives you, the original purchaser, specific legal
rights. Your rights may vary from state to state.
