Sale-A-Bration Time Flies . . .
‘Cause We’re All Having Fun!
Sale-A-Bration ends in a few weeks and
with it all the free, limited-time-only products
will come to an end too. (Sad, we know.)
Before you and your customers start tearing
up, remember there is still plenty of time for
free products (for them), increased sales (for
you) and just plain fun (for everyone)!
FREE IS GOOD
Monthly
Art Challenge
Read ‘Collectible Stamps’ (page 5) and consider
the ways you can use the Postage Stamp Punch
on your projects. Sit down and make several
creations with this unique punch.
During Sale-A-Bration, customers can
choose one free product from the Sale-ABration brochure for every $100 aud/$110
nzd they spend on catalogue and mini
catalogue products. Hostesses also choose
one free product with a $600 aud/$700
nzd workshop. That’s a lot of free for your
customers and hostesses!
COORDINATION SELLS
Make It Happen
O N YOUR OWN
• Make a list of people you are thankful for
(page 2). Make a project that expresses your
appreciation of what they have done for you.
Then share it!
• Read ‘Isn’t It Romantic’ (page 4) and
re-create one of the samples at an upcoming
workshop. The Thanks card shows how
versatile the Marry Me Set can be.
AS A GROUP
• Talk about the benefits of promoting at your
next group meeting (page 3). Give each
member of the group time to share her goals
and get advice on how to reach them.
• Make 10 cards that use a single stamp
(page 6). Take them to a group meeting and
swap with others. Then bring the cards to
your workshops so customers can see the
possibilities.
Our Best Wishes card does a stand up job
of touting the coordination of the SaleA-Bration Designer Series Paper, ribbon,
brads and the Fresh Vintage Set. The fact
that you can get all of these products for
free is the icing on the cake! During your
workshop, point out the coordination of all
these products. Make sure to note how the
new Postage Stamp Punch in the current
Summer Mini also works well with them.
For example, after you show off the Fresh
Vintage Set, you can say, ‘This set coordinates
with the Postage Stamp Punch on page 20 in
the Summer Mini Catalogue—so make sure
to add this punch to your order. Remember,
adding more products to your order quickly
adds up to more free products for you!’
MORE FREE IS BETTER
With a workshop of $600 aud/$700 nzd in
sales, your hostesses earn free Sale-A-Bration
products. Encourage customers to book a
workshop of their own as another way to
earn free products. As you are showing off
products in your workshops, you can say,
‘You still have a chance to earn more free
products before Sale-A-Bration is over. Talk
with me about booking a workshop for you
and your friends.’
With so many ways to earn free Sale-ABration products, it’s not too late for your
customers to get all of their favourites!

There are a lot
of different
ways to be a
demonstrator.
Want to know which
way is the best
way? It’s simple: the
way that’s right for
you. So which way
is your way? There
are a lot of different roads you can take in
running your business or even in expressing
your creativity. We’re at our best and have
more fun when we’re true to ourselves and
what’s best for our current life stage.
That’s why we wanted to make 2012 all about
you and the way you want to do business. Our
year-long campaign, My Way, will encourage
you to find the demonstrator path that
resonates with you. At Stampin’ Up!® we’re
committed to giving you a variety of ‘roads’ to
take. We want to give you and your customers
freedom, flexibility and full customisation in
your Stampin’ Up! experience.
Even before we finalised this campaign, we
started shifting in this direction. With the
understanding that every demonstrator
and every customer has a place at Stampin’
Up!, we’ve been finding ways to create this
freedom and flexibility for you to navigate
your own course.
Here’s a snapshot:
• Hostess benefits: Choose what you earn.
• Stampin’ Connection: Your profile your way.
• Stamping options: Wood-mount or
clear-mount.
• And more to come . . .
The great thing about My Way is that just
like you evolve and change over time, so can
your demonstratorship. Going from university into the real world? Or from being a
newlywed to having your first baby? That’s
okay. Just flip the turn signal blinker and
make a right or left turn onto a new road . . .
or even go in reverse (remember, Stampin’
Up!’s roads are crash-free)!
No matter what route each person takes,
together we create a complete map that gets
us all where we want to go!

Grow with Gratitude
As a demonstrator, you invest a lot in
your business—your time, money, energy,
passion for creating and so much more! And,
like all investments, you hope for a valuable
return through new customers, inspired
stamping ideas, additional workshops
and events and of course a little money
helps too. As you plan for your business,
have you ever considered incorporating a
gratitude strategy? There is no doubt that
you have felt and expressed gratitude for
your valued customers, downline, upline
and even potential customers, but have you
ever wondered how to make it a part of your
regular business plan?
Think about how you have felt when you
have both given and received gratitude.
How did you feel toward that person? Has
it created an enduring connection? How did
it affect your relationship? As you consider
what gratitude has done for you in the past,
here are six ideas to incorporate gratitude
into your business for the future:
1. P
UT GRATITUDE ON YOUR
CALENDAR. Mark a date on your
calendar each month and set aside some
time to write thank-you notes. You might
find it helpful to write five blank lines on
that day of the calendar and throughout
the month fill in the blanks with names
of those you would like to thank. Or,
each month you could write five notes
to someone from these categories: a
new customer, a hostess, a downline
member, someone who attended a
workshop but did not order and a friend
or family member who has been especially
supportive that month.
2. REMIND YOURSELF TO SHARE
GRATITUDE AND KEEP IT IN PLAIN
SIGHT. Create a reminder card for your
mirror, refrigerator or car as a reminder
to share your gratitude. Create handstamped thank-you notes and keep
them in a box nearby. When you have a
moment of gratitude, pull out a card and
write a note.
3. T
AKE A GRATITUDE BASKET TO YOUR
EVENTS. Show your loyal customers that
your heart is overflowing with gratitude
for their business. Fill up a basket with
Stampin’ Up! products or handmade gifts.
When they place a specific number of
orders or spend a certain total, let them
select a gratitude gift.
4. K
EEP A GRATITUDE LIST. Express
meaningful appreciation by understanding what matters most to the people
who support your business. Don’t rely on
your memory to keep track. Make a list
of names and record their interests and
possible gift ideas.
5. P
LAN AHEAD TO SPEND SOME OF
YOUR EARNINGS ON GRATITUDE
GIFTS. Each month, spend a set amount
of money on a gift for a customer. If you
give a $25 gift certificate to a valued
customer each month you will spend
just $300 a year on gratitude. Whatever
total you decide, a little money spent on
gratitude will go a long way in building a
loyal customer base.
6. H
OLD A GRATITUDE EVENT. Invite
everyone who has supported your
business over the last year to an appreciation event. Host an awards ceremony
to recognise each person or simply give
them a small thank-you gift. You could
have prize drawings and a free project.
Whatever you decide to do, focus on them
and how each person has helped you
achieve new and exciting things this year.
Whether you incorporate one or all of these
ideas, just remember, expressing gratitude
will not only help you develop personally as
you create lasting and meaningful relationships, but it will help you grow professionally
as you build and sustain your business. As
American author Wilferd A. Peterson said,
'Gratitude spurs us on to prove ourselves
worthy of what others have done for us. The
spirit of gratitude is a powerful energiser'
When you make a wise investment in
gratitude, it will pay a handsome return and
set a powerful and positive tone for your life
and business.

EVERY DEMONSTRATOR HAS A TITLE &
EVERY TITLE HAS BENEFITS
• O
ne-time cash bonus. Once you reach
senior manager, you’ll get a one-time cash
bonus—and will get another one every
time you promote after that! Who doesn’t
love a chunk of cash?
It’s pretty simple. From the moment you sign
up to be a demonstrator, you have a title—
associate. From there, what you sell, how much
you recruit and how much your recruits recruit
determine what title you have.
• D
ownline override payment. If you have a
recruit, you can earn money based on their
sales through downline overrides. Help them
sell and it’s a win-win!
Each title has its benefits. It’s pretty obvious,
but the higher you go, the better benefits you’ll
have. With the upcoming career plan changes
in April, title benefits will be better than ever.
DON’T MISS OUT
So let’s say you work hard to promote. To do
so, you sell a certain amount in 12-month sales
and for most titles you have to have a certain
number of recruits and even a certain number
of recruits with their own recruits. You may as
Here’s a highlight of some of the benefits you
will be able to receive based on your title:
• D
iscounted or free new catalogue product
bundles—for every catalogue! If you’re a
well reap the reward, don’t you think?
You have to meet your title requirements to
get the ongoing benefits. While it takes sales,
recruits and downline leadership to promote
to certain titles, you only need to keep up
two of these areas to get your title benefits:
12-month rolling sales and first-level demonstrator count (put simply, sales and recruits).
Isn’t it great that once you promote, you’ll
only have to maintain these two areas to
continue to get the benefits of your title?
Getting paid a percentage of your downline’s
sales is also based on your title, sales and
recruits but works a little bit differently than
the other ongoing title benefits.
GET EVEN MORE
So you want it all? Then you’ll want to make
a goal to promote. Then promote again.
As you promote, you’ll be eligible for more
benefits and more money through downline
overrides. So go for it!

ISN’T IT
Falling in love can happen suddenly or
gradually, with those treasured emotions
either settling like the dew until they
gradually fill the heart or bursting on the
scene like a rush of flames. Either way,
the feelings associated with the dawn of
a new romance is something that poets,
playwrights and novelists have tried to
capture since man first put pen to paper.
Who has not heard ‘All the world loves a
lover’, ‘The course of true love never did
run smooth’ or ‘Better to have loved and
lost than never to have loved at all’? Ideally,
romantic love results in a synergy and a
transformative power that can change our
lives and the words ‘Will you marry me?’ are
only the beginning of a sweet association
that will last forever.
Our Marry Me Stamp Set has all of the
elements you need to create marriagethemed scrapbook pages and cards
honouring the great love stories in your
life, either your own or those of your
family and friends. This set has the added
advantage of containing elements that are
versatile enough for any project, including
a beautifully designed label that
coordinates with the Decorative Label
Punch and a graceful image of longstemmed poppies that would be perfect
for birthday, thank-you, sympathy or
just-because notes.
By varying her technique, notice how our
artist achieved two completely different
looks using this set. The wedding
card features a charming silhouette of
dancing newlyweds—with dramatic,
dark intensity created through the use
of Jet Black StāzOn ink. The tone-ontone background design, made with
VersaMark ink, provides a subtle yet
compelling backdrop for the image of the
happy couple. Add a bit of Crochet Trim
and a few strategically placed Pearl Basic
Jewels . . . and you’ve got a magically
lovely card that’s just the thing for
announcing a match made in heaven!
Our Thank You card spotlights the Marry
Me Set’s strikingly beautiful poppies image.
Why not offer this eye-catching card as a
Make & Take and teach the marker-to-stamp
technique at your next workshop? Simply
apply colour to the stamp using Stampin’
Write Markers, then breathe onto the inked
rubber stamp to remoisten the ink. We
also applied Crystal Effects and a hint of
Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter to the
poppy petals for extra sparkle and fun. Easy
techniques like these look fabulous and are
great for building confidence in beginning
crafters. Once your customers see how easy
it is to duplicate such sophisticated-looking
cards, they’ll have to buy the products so
they can try these techniques at home!
‘A successful marriage requires
falling in love many times, always
with the the same person.’
–Mignon McLaughlin
Do you have a customer whose son or daughter is about to get
married and needs a helping hand to capture precious memories in a
wedding album? Or maybe you have a neighbour who would like a

There are two kinds of stamp collectors: postage stamp
enthusiasts, who collect paper postage stamps and Stampin’ Up!
stamp enthusiasts, who collect rubber stamps of all designs. With
apologies to postage stamp collectors, we submit that collecting
Stampin’ Up! stamps is the superior pastime. Here’s why:
1. Postage stamp collectors like to put their stamps into albums and
look at, but not touch, them; Stampin’ Up! stamp collectors like to
get their hands on their stamps and use them as often as possible.
Hands-on is always more fun!
2. Stampin’ Up! collectors get more bang for their buck. The most
expensive postage stamp was purchased for $2.3 million*. Just
think of how many rubber stamp sets you could buy for that
amount of money!
3. For postage stamp collectors, finding an elusive stamp is the end
of a journey. For Stampin’ Up! stamp collectors, finding the ideal
stamp is just the beginning of a wonderful creative journey.
That said, we do admire a pretty postage stamp. Postage stamps are
often works of art on their own and postage stamp images are often
seen on clothing, jewellery and of course, paper crafts. So we thought
we’d combine the best of both stamp worlds in one marvelous set:
Pretty Postage.
The Pretty Postage Set has four versatile images, making it suitable
for a variety of occasions: birthday, thank you and more. The images
are sized just right for tags and accents and they’ll also work well as
focal points on small-size projects. You could even create your own
personalised postcards and stationery.
many of our punches with the small images in the Pretty Postage Set
and you can use the Postage Stamp Punch with images from other
sets or as a border punch, as we did on the Sweet envelope.
As you demonstrate this set in a workshop, make sure you point
out the assortment of images. You could let your guests create
the Happy Birthday card as a Make & Take but let them choose
the image they want to use. Chances are each guest will choose a
different image! You could say, ‘Don’t you love the assortment of
images in this set? You can use it for everything from valentines
to birthdays. If you want these images to look like postage stamps,
punch them out with the coordinating Postage Stamp Punch.’
We love pretty postage stamps, particularly when we create them
ourselves. A stamp made with your own hands and your own
creativity is the best collectible stamp of all!
*The Three-Skilling Yellow stamp of Sweden was sold for $2.3
million us in 1996 (www.findyourstampsvalue.com/samples/most_
valuable_stamps.htm)
This set is designed specifically to coordinate with the Postage Stamp
Punch. When you stamp one of the images and then punch it out
using the Postage Stamp Punch, you’ll think it’s a real postage stamp!
Take a look at the Sweet envelope. The stamped image with its perforated edges looks like a genuine postage stamp (minus the price).
And although the Pretty Postage Set and Postage Stamp Punch are
designed to work together, try using them separately. You can use

SINGLE STAMPS CREATE SPECTACULAR RESULTS
‘I don’t know where to start’. If you’ve heard
a customer say this at a workshop, you’re not alone.
Fortunately, there’s a simple answer: our a la carte single
stamps are the perfect starting place for new customers. Even
longtime stampers can appreciate the cool qualities of these
small stamps.
• Take one single stamp and create several samples with it.
Each sample should feature a different technique, such
as watercolouring, embossing, colouring with markers
and so on. Share these samples with customers and invite
them to hold a workshop where you will demonstrate that
technique.
Single stamps make a good introduction to Stampin’ Up!
Customers can peruse pages 13–16 of the Idea Book &
Catalogue, choose their favourite image and place an order.
Try these ways of using single stamps to boost your business.
• Single stamps appeal to customers who want to be
creative but have a small spending limit.
• If a workshop guest doesn’t know what to order, you might
say, ‘Check out our single stamps such as the Triple Treat Flower.
Use it to make cards and more.’
• Point out the gift-giving possibilities: ‘With this stamp, card
stock and an ink pad, you’d have all you need for a quick and
easy gift.’
• Choose a few single stamps and make half a dozen samples
with each one. Keep a few different samples with you so you
can always share what you do. You could say, ‘I’m a Stampin’
Up! demonstrator and I help people nurture their
creativity by making projects like this one’.

USE MIXED MEDIA TO MAKE
MEMORABLE SCRAPBOOK PAGES
IT UP
With any craft or hobby, it’s easy to slip into a pattern, a
routine or (dare we say it!) a rut. It’s no different for scrapbookers.
But you can avoid slipping into a creative snag by doing something
different, trying something new, mixing it up.
What does that mean? Mixed media scrapbooking or scrapbooking
with a variety of different products, is more popular than ever
before. Give it a try—and share it with your customers. Keep a few
things in mind as you get started. First, there are no rules with
mixed media. Add as much or as little as you like. The result will be
a page that reflects you and your style. Second, Stampin’ Up! makes
it easy with coordinating products. Third, use these guidelines to
spark your mixed media creativity.
THINK TEXTURE
Texture reigns supreme on a mixed media page. Let your sense of
touch run free. Paper, buttons, staples, knick-knacks . . . all of them
have a place in a scrapbook.
THE VALUE OF VARIETY
Using a lovely variety of images and products together is a big part of
what makes mixed media work. The Good Stuff page offers a lovely
combination of flowers and butterflies. The artist achieves balance
on the page by limiting the colour scheme. The pop of colour on the
flower focuses attention right where it should be: on the photo.
MAKE THE MOST OF MISCELLANY
Scrapbook pages are a perfect place for all of your little bits and
pieces. Use your card stock scraps to create die cuts and punched
accents. You can also add pieces of memorabilia—theatre tickets,
brochures, fortunes from fortune cookies, bingo cards and more.
Bring these mementos out of your purse and into your scrapbook.
SHARE YOUR SUCCESS
Customers will love mixed media just as much as you do. Show
them a mixed media creation and say, ‘If you schedule a workshop,
I’ll show you creative ways to use your scraps to make beautiful
scrapbook pages!’
Once you decide to mix it up, you’ll have so much fun you won’t
want to stop.
Creating with mixed media is all about
experimentation. Play with a variety of
products to find pleasing combinations.

Demonstrator Spotlight
One of the strongest elements of
Bron Heslep’s Stampin’ Up! business is
the way she works hard to make provide
her customers with personalised service.
‘Customers ask questions about colour
combinations and ways around perceived
difficulties, bounce ideas about creative
solutions and get classes and stamp clubs
each month’, she says. ‘I offer a range of
club/class/workshop options, to suit most
people.’
BRON HESLOP
Senior Supervisor
North Shore City, New Zealand
In her creative endeavours, Bron finds inspiration all around her. ‘I often get inspired
by colour combinations or designs I see
when I’m out, especially in shop windows!’
she shares. ‘One of my favourite cards
was inspired by colours in a teddy bear’s
jumper in a children’s wear shop! I will also
find inspiration in things I’ve seen, like
Impressions articles, demonstrator blogs and
regional training presentations.’
The Stampin’ Up! opportunity works for
people in a variety of circumstances. ‘The
beauty of being a Stampin! Up! demonstrator,
I have found, is that my business can be
tailored around my family and circumstances’,
Bron explains. This will be helpful to her as
she returns to full-time work with the Navy.
‘I intend to continue my stamp clubs and
classes. I appreciate the flexibility to be able to
go hard and build my business when I can or
to scale back a little when other life demands
are high.’
‘You get out of Stampin’ Up! what
you put in, but the friendships I
have made are the most valuable.’
Watch for projects marked with this
logo. These are excellent choices
for workshop demonstrations. Cards
marked with this logo can be completed in 5–8
minutes. Scrapbook pages marked with this
logo can be completed in under 15 minutes.
