Steiner Military binoculars are built to withstand the
toughest demands. They feature an extremely compact
and durable design that can cope with the most punishing
conditions. Steiner’s military lens construction guarantees
stability even under severe shock and vibration – due to
their unbreakable Makrolon® chassis, a fiber reinforced
polycarbonate material that is extremely impact resistant.
Our long-lasting rubber armoring is slip resistant and
noiseless providing a firm grip in the heat or cold, or the
sun and rain. The rubber armoring is extremely rugged and
resistant to oil, acid and salt water. This rubber armoring
is quiet and shock-absorbing making the binoculars
comfortable to hold and easy to use.
N i t r o g e n P r e s s u r e F i ll i n g
Using Steiner’s exclusive 2-Way Valve System, all Military
binoculars are purged and pressurized to 14 PSI with
dry nitrogen and argon gas, This eliminates fogging and
condensation inside the binoculars to ensure crisp, clear
images in any weather condition, every time. This is the only
method that fully guarantees an absolutely condensationfree use of the binocular when exposed to drastic changes
in temperatures and altitude.

Steiner’s Military binoculars are guaranteed to be
waterproof to a depth of 5 meters or 16 feet. Special
sealing technology also protects the high-end optics from
dust, dirt and moisture.
The unique 2-way valve technology also makes it simple
to inspect, service and maintain the binoculars even after
years of use. The binoculars are always ready for action
under the most extreme temperatures or in the worst
weather conditions. Optical quality and precision are
maintained for decades.

Since laser protection has become an important
issue with optical devices, all Steiner Military
binoculars can be supplied with laser protection
filters, either our standard filter (OD 4 / 1064 nm)
or one meeting the specific requirements of our
users and customers.
Steiner was the first company in the world to
develop and manufacture a binocular with laser
protection filters. Since our initial research and
development work in this field, we have gained a
tremendous amount of experience and knowledge
in this technology which benefits all of our
military customers.

Steiner’s special compact construction shifts
the center of gravity into the palms of the user’s
hands and allows extended observation without
getting tired. The rounded shoulders on our
binoculars make it easy for users to enter and exit
armored vehicles and tanks without hindrance.

The ability to focus each eyepiece on our
binoculars makes viewing more comfortable. If
both eyes are the same diopter strength, just set
both of the adjusting rings on the eyecups to “0”
and you will see clearly from 20 m to infinity. If
not, adjust both ocular lenses individually for
razor sharp images. Once adjusted, everything will
be sharp and clear from approx 20 m to infinity for
varying distances.
Re t i cle
The distance or size of objects can be easily
determined with the help of a reticle. With a
known height or width of an object, it is easy to
determine how far it is away, and with a known
distance the size of an object can be easily
determined. For each different binocular model,
Steiner offers an optional standard reticle, but
other reticle patterns can be developed to meet
customer needs.
Ro o f-P r i s m S y s t e m
Roof-prism binoculars split the light entering into
two separate paths. By design these binoculars
are extremely compact, smaller and more
streamlined in size.
Porro-Prism S ys tem
Porro-prism systems are used in almost all
high-quality binoculars. Porro binoculars
are also extremely rugged. This system
creates a perfect three-dimensional image
and its design increases light transmission.
Steiner’s Military binoculars offer a greater
depth of field since the two objective lenses
are further apart from each other. Even at
extremely long distances, this lets the user
clearly see whether one object is behind or
in front of another.

optics with built-in laser rangefinders that utilizes
an eye-safe invisible FDA Class 1 laser to accurately
range targets out to 1,600+ meters. The easy-toread digital display is superimposed over the image

on highly reflective targets. The 10x50 LRF also has a scan mode, which is especially helpful
when measuring small or moving targets. Scan mode switches off automatically after 20
seconds to conserve battery life. It is based on our military-tested/military-approved porro-prism
configuration that is both compact and robust in its design.

The Steiner ARDs fit Steiner Military R or Military/Marine binoculars with 30mm and 50mm objective lenses.
The ARDs reduce up to 100% of reflection or “glint” with their honeycomb pattern. Loss of light transmission is
approximately 15-20%. Shielding against glint or reflection is vitally important during covert operations. The
ARDs attach to the outside of objective lens with an adjustable tension fit using a hex key (included). Not for
use with10x50 LRF Military rangefinder.

for German-made riflescopes. Based on that success,
