INSTALLATION
• Precast concrete elements are manufactured at an NPCA
certified facility.
• Precast concrete walls, corners, and tees are set on a pouredin-place slab within a receiving keyway. Alignment is
checked with laser equipment.
• Temporary props are attached to the inner face of the tank
and secured to the base. Top-of-wall brackets placed at the
panel joints insure panel alignment.
• Tendons are threaded into the ducts and partial tension is
applied to all tendons.
2.5 MGD SBR WWTP
• Walkways are set into place and partial tension is applied.
• Joint grout is pumped into the joint cavities.
• Final tensioning is applied to all tendons.
• Base to wall elastomeric sealants are applied.
• Structures are checked and insured for water-tightness.
STRUCTURAL SUPERIORITY
• All exterior and interior walls are designed for full
water load on one side and empty on the other side,
unless otherwise specified. All walls are designed in
conformance with ACI 318 and ACI 350.
• Precast post-tensioned rectangular tanks are capable of
being completely in-ground or primarily above grade
with the base slab below frost level.
• Post-tensioned walk-ways provide a structural upper
fixed beam. Without the need for conventional
cantilever design requirements, the wall thickness of
deep structures can be reduced.
1.0 MGD Oxidation Ditch WWTP
• The outer walls form the superstructure of a multicompartmented tank. Corner sections connect the
superstructure walls. Tee sections and interior walls
compartmentalize the superstructure. Horizontal
tendons are inserted and tensioned at the corners
and tees. Finally the walkways are installed and
tensioned.
• Due to the depth of the walls and utilization of
superstructure walls with interior walls, the resulting
footprint is much smaller than traditional designs.

TANK APPLICATIONS
• Precast post-tensioned concrete rectangular structures
manufactured by Dutchland, Inc. are implemented for
a variety of wastewater treatment systems processes,
including SBR’s, Extended Aeration, Oxidation
Ditches, MBR’s and more.

• Dutchland, Inc. provides design/build extended
aeration wastewater treatment plants, utilizing high
quality equipment and complete process designs.

DURABILITY
• All wall panels are solid and of continuous thickness.
• All walls are cast horizontally in steel forms, providing an
extraordinarily dense impermeable exterior. Spalling which
is typically associated with cast-in-place concrete is virtually
eliminated.
• Maintenance associated with steel tankage (dewatering,
sandblasting, repainting) is not required.
• Exterior coatings are not required. Penetrating stain or
decorative coatings are available upon request.

manufacturing facility with ACI certified Quality Control
personnel and PTI certified installation personnel.
• Dutchland, Inc. is recognized by NPCA as operating one of the
highest quality manufacturing facilities in the United States.
• All precast concrete is manufactured in Lancaster County
Pennsylvania and delivered to the job site.
DUTCHLAND, INC. FACILITY
• Dutchland, Inc. specializes in many types of precast posttensioned concrete structures, including circular, rectangular,
and elliptical structures.
• Precast post-tensioned concrete structures are used for water
storage, wastewater treatment, effluent storage, and many other
purposes.
REASONS TO CHOOSE PRECAST POST-TENSIONED
TANKS
PRECAST MANUFACTURING FACILITY
1. Precast post-tensioned tanks are one of the most cost-effective
options available. Precast post-tensioned tanks are competitive
with most varieties of steel tanks without the future costly
maintenance associated with steel tanks.
2. Precast post-tensioned concrete tanks are easily implemented
for a variety of uses and types of wastewater treatment.
3. Precast post-tensioned concrete tanks generally cost less
than cast-in-place tanks and are constructed utilizing superior
construction methods.
4. Precast post-tensioned tanks are virtually maintenance free
for decades and are designed to stay in continuous service,
eliminating costly maintenance and down time.
5. Precast post-tensioned tanks can be constructed above ground
(with the base slab below frost), completely buried, or
anywhere between. Differential backfill is no problem.
6. Minimal site space is required for construction, resulting
in less site work. Wall panels and other key elements are
manufactured in a climate controlled production facility rather
than on site.
Circular precast post-tensioned concrete structures are utilized
for a variety of water and wastewater purposes, including potable
water storage, fire protection water storage, clarifiers, digesters,
and more. Circular tanks can also be configured to be a tank
within a tank.
Exterior and interior walls are post-tensioned and are designed for
differential loading.
Additional information is available upon request for
rectangular Precast Post-tensioned Concrete Structures.
7. Less time is typically required to construct precast posttensioned tanks.
8. Additional information is available about post-tensioning upon
request or at our web site.
