The National Crafts & Design Fair is Ireland’s biggest
and best Fair for the crafts and design industry
and there are literally tens of thousands of unique,
handmade crafts on offer. It’s an essential day out for
anyone looking for something special for Christmas.

Fair, which have all been made with love and flair by
Ireland’s most talented designers and craftworkers.
The National Crafts & Design Fair takes place in the
Main Hall Complex of the RDS, Dublin from Wed 2nd
December - Sun 6th December. Why not come along

MEET THE DESIGNERS & MAKERS
This year has seen Irish design and designers being
celebrated and promoted both at home and around
the world through the government-backed Irish Design
2015 (ID2015) initiative. From fashion shows to
design festivals, trade shows to embassy events, Irish
designers and craftspeople have been flying the flag
internationally, and showing the world the diversity,
excellence and provenance of Irish craft and design.

‘MADE in Kilkenny’ was set up to foster

excellence in crafts in County Kilkenny, to
encourage the growth of the professional craft
industry and to promote the county as a shopping
destination for authentic, handmade craft in
Ireland. Kilkenny, has long had the reputation for
being a hub of creativity, and ‘MADE in Kilkenny’
contributes to this.
From the practiced hammering and manipulation
of precious metals, the careful sawing, turning and
chiseling of wood and stone, to the tasteful stitching
of textiles and leather, all these craftspeople are
contributing to Irelands heritage. They are preserving
and developing ancient techniques, and presenting
you with beautiful pieces to drink and to eat from, to
carry and to store things in, to sit on, to admire, and
to adorn the body with!
All the craftspeople in ‘MADE in Kilkenny’ make
their own work using both traditional and modern
techniques, from the white-hot furnace of the
glass-blower to the throwing wheel of the potter.

as Ash, Beech, Walnut, Cypress,
