Market Update from Vermont Properties
We have certainly had our challenges this summer, both economically and weather related, but we as always remain
optimistic about our market here at Okemo and our
Ludlow community.
Winterplace has seen more sales transactions than
any other complex on the mountain YTD. Solitude
total sales are down 70%, Trailside is down 40%
while Winterplace is up 30% for number of sales
transactions. Why? While asking prices have adjusted downward mountain wide, it seems that
Winterplace is rating high with buyers in terms of
value. The initial investment can be considerably less
than some of the other mountain condos offered for
sale right now. Buyers are looking at carrying costs,
location and amenities. Although the closed sales
transactions numbers are down, we are moving some
inventory. Interest rates are a factor, as well, with rates at 60 year lows. Our message is “Now is the time to buy!”.
We still have some seasonal rentals available for the upcoming ski season. Thank you, as always, for your referrals and
business. Most importantly, thank you for your continued support of the Okemo Valley Area and your home away from
home.
Your real estate team,
Kathy, Suzanne and Alyson
