Harlow has inherited the memorials
that the people of the original town of
Harlow and the adjacent villages created
after the two World Wars. One hundred
and twenty men died during the first
conflict and 32 during the second.
These men are either buried or
commemorated in many places around
the world. They are also commemorated
in Harlow on four memorial crosses,
various tablets in churches and chapels,
by a War Memorial Institute and a
Memorial Garden, along with a variety
of Memorials to individuals. Those who
died in service of their country since
1945 are remembered on the
Netteswell Memorial Cross
in Harlow Town Park. There
are a total of 23 war graves
in Harlow.
