times and unbearable loss. Yet the power of love perseveres, as do
the tuneful hits, in this masterpiece of American musical theater.

CAMA will end the PARAMOUNT BROADWAY SERIERS
with this monumental novel that comes to life in one of the
greatest musicals of all time. It’s the story of ex-convict Jean
Valjean and his journey for redemption. On that road, he
encounters the unwavering love of a mother, the innocence of
a child, the steely determination of a hunter and the passion
of youthful freedom fighters. Nominated for 12 Tony Awards,
taking home 8 including Best Score and Best Musical, Les
Miserables is a truly enthralling spectacle with brilliant imagery,
magnificent orchestrations, stirring lyrics and a story of heroic
human commitment that you will not soon forget. Whether
you’re new to Les Mis or have seen it before, you will want to
see what Paramount’s creative team brings to life in our grand
production. Lunch will be included at one of the neighboring
restaurants. Cancel by: April 01…Min 30/Max 40…Includes:

In the passing of my wife Cindy (Kolick), I found comfort and
strength in family. And, I found solace in the abundance of
Mass cards and expressions of sympathy that I have read again
and again. The touching words from so many throughout our
Carillon family fill me with hope and belief. Thank you. And, to
the Carillon Community Chorus, which sang at her Memorial
Mass, and which Cindy so dearly loved being a part of, you will
remain in my heart forever.

Falls can be disastrous, possibly leading to long-term
immobility and loss of independence. To help prevent falls,
the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (www.
aaos.org) recommends that seniors participate in an exercise
program designed to improve strength, balance, agility and
coordination.
Catherine Logan, MSPT, physical therapist, personal trainer
and MD candidate at Tufts University School of Medicine
in Boston recommends the following exercises in addition
to a regular stretching and cardiovascular exercise routine.
For assistance in developing a comprehensive fall prevention
program, please contact fitness instructor.
Strength Exercises:
Chair squats, heel raises and bridge on stability ball
Balance Exercises:
Single-leg stance and single-leg stance with eyes closed.
Stand next to a wall or countertop, using a hand to maintain
balance.
Exercises for Agility and Coordination
Perform Heel-toe walking while moving in a forward direction
and backward direction.
Additional Tips to Avoid Falls
1. Remove throw rugs from your household.
2. Try a tai chi class.
3. Remove clutter from hallways, staircases and other areas
of heavy traffic in the home.
4. Discuss any dizziness or vision changes—especially after a
change in medication—with a physician.
5. Get regular eye examinations.
6. Keep staircases and hallways well lit, and consider
installing night-lights in these areas.
7. Wear flat, rubber-soled, nonslip shoes.
8. Put on clean dry shoes, salt or water can cause the shoe
or boot to slip.

If you are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or a related
Dementia you are invited to join our support group. Here
in a friendly supportive environment you can participate
in discussions geared toward the needs and interests of
individuals who are caregivers, family members, or friends of
someone with dementias. It is a chance to learn more about
dementias and what to expect along the way.
Those with the dementia are also welcome if they are able to
sit in the discussions and benefit from the group. They do not
have to enter the discussions if they are not comfortable or
able to do so.
Our support group is an opportunity to learn from and share
with others who are experiencing the same situations in their
interactions with someone with dementia. A support group
helps individuals understand that they are not alone in their
situation and that others do understand and can often offer
suggestions that may help. And it is comforting to know
someone will listen and understand.
For more information please call the facilitator ARLENE

Words to Move You
The country was not built by those who
relied on somebody else to take care of them.
It was built by men and women who relied on
themselves, who dared to shape their own lives,
who had enough courage to blaze new trails with
enough confidence in themselves to take the
necessary risks. This self-reliance is our American
legacy—a precious ingredient in our national
character, one which we must not lose.

Carillon VFW Post 12059 made a third trip to the Veterans Home in
Manteno in the month of December after the commander was given
$400.00 for the home to be used for any purpose we stipulated. After
consulting the administration of the home, it was decided to place the
money in the commissary fund for the direct benefit of all the veterans.
This fund is distributed to the veterans thru gift cards that they can
spend in the commissary for food and beverages for themselves. The
home was very grateful for the generous donation and will put it to
good use for the veterans.
Carillon VFW Post 12059 once again sponsored a high school student
in the VFW National Scholarship Competition for a $30,000.00 first
prize. Our student is from Plainfield South High School. She has
one the 1st place prize at the post level and now is competing in the
District 18 competition. If she wins there and wins at the State level
she will go to Washington D.C. for the National Competition. The
post is very proud of her.
As usual VFW Post 12059 has been making the rounds at local nursing
homes and visiting veterans during the holidays. It is always nice to
see the happy faces when we visit and show them some much needed
attention. They are always thankful and have a good time with us.

Dear Friends in Carillon,
Each and every year without fail....you extend your great kindness
to me. There are never enough kind words to say thank you. So
as I was thinking, I began to search for ways other people have
expressed their gratitude. I came upon these two thoughts:
“We can only be said to be truly alive in those moments when
our hearts are conscious of our treasures.”
- Thornton Wilder
“For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also.”
Matthew 6:21
In conclusion, in my quest for finding the best way to let you
know I am grateful to you. I discovered that my heart and
treasure are in Carillon!
Thank you~Toni

Newcomers Gathering
58+ invitations for the January 31 Gathering were delivered
by the Newcomers Committee volunteers to the very newest
Carillon Residents. For the sake of clarification, the Newcomers
Committee is just that – a committee of volunteers hoping to
help new residents transition into the community and feel very
welcomed.
The Newcomers Committee consists of volunteers who have
themselves found this a great way to become more involved in
all of the activities Carillon has to offer. It is always easier to join
a group with someone you know at your side.
If you have been wondering about Newcomers, the following
is a list of our committee members: Lois Allen, Cambridge;
Cindy Beadle, Bedford; Mary Bosco, Dorchester; Paulette
Buczko, Dover; Laura Carlson, Darlington; Marilyn Collins,
Dover; Betty Donaldson, Cambridge; Barbara Erickson, Bristol;

Krauss, Carlisle; Larayne Loess, Ashford; Joyce Parkins, Carlisle;
Sheila Peebles, Dover; Kay Schuller, Andover; Gloria Slomiany,
Darlington; Marge Tuisl, Berkshire; Shirley Watson, Carlisle. If
you meet any one of these ladies and wish to know more about
Newcomers, feel free to ask.
We’d love to have a representative from each neighborhood on
the committee. If you don’t see your neighborhood in the above
and would like to help welcome, give us a call. Barbara Erickson,

The journey of grief after loss is one of life’s most difficult
experiences, but we don’t have to walk alone. If you are grieving
the death of a loved one, please consider joining Carillon’s
bimonthly support group for bereaved adults and discover
the healing process within a safe, supportive and confidential
environment. The group will provide time to share stories,
process emotions, learn new coping skills and self-care practices.
The sessions are facilitated by Heartland Hospice Bereavement

Crafty Crafters is a group of knitters and crocheters who get
together every Wednesday in Club Room 2 from 12:30 to 3:00
p.m. We knit or crochet items that are then donated to nursing
homes, homeless shelters, women’s shelters, humane societies,
veterans, hospitals and any other organizations that are in need.
We also prepare items for the Carillon Craft Show in October.
Don’t know how to crochet or knit or maybe just a little rusty
with your skills? We have people who will help you. We supply
you with the yarn. If you like to socialize and talk while serving
your community, this is the place for you. Hope to see you soon.
Even with the rush of the holiday season, we managed to donate
the following items:
8 shawls and 7 afghans went to Our Lady of Angels home in
Joliet; 3 prayer shawls were given to widows in Carillon; 20
hats, 7 hats and scarves sets, 4 scarves and a set of booties were
donated to Morning Star Mission. Edward Hospital was the
recipient or 15 chemo hats. Silver Cross Hospital received 5
afghans and 10 chemo hats. 8 puppy pads went to our furry
friends. And 2 afghans went to St. Joseph Hospital.
Speaking of St. Joseph Hospital, Gladys Tupek of Bedford made
40 nursery hats for St Joe’s in September and October of this
year. Although math is not my strongest suit, for a year that
comes to 240 baby hats. I’m not sure how long Gladys has been
with Crafty Crafters, but if she has been with us for 10 years,
that’s 2,400 hats. I don’t have any statistics for Ingrid Keller,
but I’m sure she’s not too far behind Gladys. One or more of
your grandchildren may have left St. Joe’s wearing a hat made
by Gladys or Ingrid. Just two more stars in our constellation of
talented people at Crafty Crafters.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!
(Gerry) Pacholick would like to thank our neighbors and friends

TIMELY NEWS
Dolores Halagiera came across a September article from the
Romeoville Bugle the other day. Taking a closer look, she
thought it was still pretty timely. It had to do with a visit to the
“Tasty Waffle” by Bruce Rauner.
“Rauner made his way through Will County, noting the
importance of its location, with its proximity to Chicago. Sees
it as a key corridor for transportation, plus, “There is still room
to grow here,” says Rauner. “If we get this state turned around,
Will County can be booming, very prosperous, and I am all-in
to make that happen.”
Last month, I put in a bit of biographical information about our
board president and vice president. This month we will feature
our secretary, Marge Kazlauskas, and treasurer, Jeannine
Warren.
Marge has lived here for fourteen years. She claims that that is
the longest she has lived anywhere. Marge is involved with the
Second Chance Resale Shop in Lemont, and also with Benefits
Garden Center Services. She spent 25 years in retail, selling
furniture at five different stores. Golf and bowling are her sports,
but traveling is her passion. Marge has two daughters and three
grown grandchildren.
OUR WONDERFUL FAMILIES
Ann and Mike Canaday are very proud of their grandson,
Matt Knutson, who continues to be one of the creative forces
in producing Channel 7’s “Windy City Live”. Matt just won
his third Emmy Award for broadcasting. He was also inducted
into Northern Illinois University’s Broadcasting Hall of Fame
for his career achievements at Chicago’s WGN-TV’s Channel
9 and WLS-TV’s Channel 7. (Matt also produced a program
called “Chicago’s Best”.)
Jeannine is a proud early settler, having lived here for 25 years.
She is presently our treasurer, but previously board secretary
for many years. Jeannine is active in her church as secretary
of the board, and was actually the first woman president of the
church board. Add to all this the fact that she was a patent law
secretary for forty years. Jeannine and Walt have been married
for nineteen years, and have fifteen great-grandchildren. A little
known fact about Jeannine is that she represented the Paramount
Tall Club in Hollywood, CA in the Miss Tall America contest as
Miss Tall Chicago.
March news deadline is February 5.
Please contact Ann Canaday (815-341-6379)
or e-mail your news to [email protected].
Thanks, ladies, for the information. Next month, we feature our
last three board members, Mark Leisen, Larry Young, and Bob
Mackanin.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Enjoy celebrating with those you
love!! Stay warm!! Winter started later but at the time of
writing once assumes that Midwest winter is now well
underway!
The year of 2014 was a year of accomplishment for the Ashford
community. Not only did the Board get things done but also
many individual homeowners improved their properties. It all
helped make our community beautiful.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to: Senhee Chun 2/1, Richard Barrett
2/2, Jim Kohler, 2/4, Hank Vervoort, and Pam Hobson
2/27. Have a great day celebrating your birthdays.
The following items were done by the Board: new fence, new
foliage and new electric outlets around the monuments, new
flag poles, streets patched, repaired curbs as needed, new foliage
around the bus stops, removed diseased trees and replanted some
additional trees, clean up after storm damage and some new
grass, repaired sidewalks as needed, fixed water problems and
storm sewers in some backyards.
SAFE TRAVELS to all who head south. Can’t imagine
why you want to get away from Illinois at this time of the
year!?! Have a wonderful time in your get-away spot. SAFE
TRAVELS to those who are spending the winter here.
APPLEGATE SYMPATHIES to Wally Goliszewski on the
death of his mother in December. You and your family are in
our Applegate thoughts and prayers.
Many individual homeowners did improvements: new windows,
new doors, new siding, and new roofs.
Possible future projects for Ashford include: blacktop or totally
replace streets, remove diseased trees, and plant additional trees.
DATES TO REMEMBER:
Winter Bags Tournament: January 25, February 22, and
March 29. Join us for good conversation, good snacks, and
good competition.
The Ashford Board appreciates all the cooperation received from
the members of our community. Reminder: As stated in your
new payment booklets, the Ashford Association Fee is $60.00
per month starting January 1, 2015.
More humor from my sister: A cabbie picks up a nun, who
gets into the cab and notices that the very handsome cab driver
won’t stop staring at her. She asks him why he is staring.
He replies,” I have a question to ask you but I don’t want to
offend you. She answers, “My son, you cannot offend me.
When you’re as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I
have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything.
I’m sure that there’s nothing you could say or ask that I would
find offensive. “Well, I’ve always had a fantasy to have a nun
kiss me,’ says the cabbie. She responds,” Well, let’s see what
we can do about that. You have to be single and your must
be Catholic. The cab driver is very excited and says, “Yes, I’m
single and Catholic.” The nun says, “OK. Pull into the next
alley. The nun fulfills his fantasy with a kiss that would make
hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab
driver starts crying. The nun says, “My dear child. Why are
you crying?’ He says, “Forgive me but I’ve sinned. I lied and
must confess that I am married and I’m Jewish. The nun says,
“That’s OK. My name is Kevin and I’m going to a Halloween
party!”
Ashford ladies breakfast – Wednesday, February 25th, 10 a.m.,

Tired of the jokes I’ve found? Why not send me some news
or a better joke so that I can put it in the Talk of the Town for
all to share!?!

REMINDER: February 18th at 7pm our Annual HOA

NEWS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Connie Teckenbrock’s granddaughter, Charley Sophia, 11
yrs. old, has been nominated to attend the Olympic Soccer
Training Facility. She’s the only girl to be nominated in
her age group. Her “Grammy” thinks she may be a better
soccer player than her dad at that age!!
Pat Tessler’s grandson, Dan, has graduated from the Police
Academy and is serving his probationary period among the
ranks of Bolingbrook. Pat is very proud, and said that Dan
has wanted to be a police officer since high school; he’s in
his middle 20’s now.
Also, Pat Tessler’s great grandson’s 7th birthday was
celebrated in January. She said it is really nice visiting her
granddaughter’s family. We all enjoy seeing everyone who
we don’t see but a few times during the year.
Please keep Barb & Bob Parr in your prayers. That family
is going through some tough times. In January, Bob again
was admitted into the hospital.

After our great December weather, winter has really struck with
a vengeance. It couldn’t possibly be a worse winter than last year,
or could it? The activities offered in our club house usually see
an influx of participants after the new years’ break.
WELCOME to new residents Leslie and Michelle Herold at
21051 W. Aspen. You have chosen a wonderful community to
live in. I would like to suggest attending the Newcomer’s get
together on Jan. 31st. They are very friendly people with lots of
community information and treats. RSVP to Barbara Erickson
815-524-3384 or Sheila Peebles 815-886-8665.
Some of our residents are experiencing health problems and could
use happy thoughts and prayers. Their names are Bob Skinkus,
Jack Keeler, and Jim Kolz. Pat Matthews has returned from a
hospital stay and is recovering at home.
As much as I love the Christmas season, afterwards can be a
letdown. BUT, it’s really just the start of the season of Christ. So with that in mind, 2015 will be fantastic. I’d like to thank
everyone who helped take down our beautiful Christmas
lobby decorations. The attached picture shows just a few of
our hard working crew: Rita Moretti, Louise Radley, Sue
Beckman, and Rosemary Saran. The remainder of the crew
were: Karen Jordan, Carol Sowa, Debby DeBoor, Carolyn
Occhuizzo, and are three “brave” men - Ray Riordan, Ray
Stephenson and Bruce Henriksen.
Hope everyone had a safe and healthy Christmas season !

thank friends and neighbors for calls, cards and prayers during
the difficult time of her husband Bill’s passing on Thanksgiving.
The unstoppable S-E-N-I-L-E Virus
I thought you would like to know about this email virus. Even
the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot
take care of this one. It appears to affect those who were born
prior to 1950.
The symptoms (score yourself as you read along):
1/ Causes you to send the same email twice DONE THAT!
2/ Causes you to send a blank email with no content THAT
TOO!
3/ Causes you to send an email to the wrong person YEP!
4/ Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you
AHAAAA!
5/ Causes you to forget to attach the attachment WELL DARN!
6/ Causes you to hit send just before you’ve finished OH NO

7/ Causes you to hit delete instead of send I JUST HATE

We extend a hearty welcome to Achamma Cyriac, our new
resident in Unit 209. Achamma came to us from Huntington
Beach, California where she was a homemaker. She moved
to Carillon to be closer to her daughter, Saleena, who lives
in Naperville. Achamma’s hobbies and special interests are
watching TV and talking on the phone. She also enjoys flower
arranging, attending church and taking walks. Achamma
has three grandchildren, Jessica, Cyril and Zachary, and a
great-grandchild is on the way. Her first impressions of life
at Carillon are the friendly people, the many activities, and
looking forward to making new friends. She says “come and
visit me in 209!” We’re glad your chose Buckingham to be
your new home!
This will be my last article for Talk of the Town. The torch
is being passed into the capable hands of Carol Sowa, Unit
210. Please give her lots of information to report. We have
many proud grandparents in the building who surely have
lots of events to report. Let’s hear about your vacations and
travels. How about new babies in the family or special honors
for someone in the military? We are all interested in what
goes on in the lives of our Buckingham family.

Please pick up after pets. Plastic bags from the newspapers make

I currently am saving them for my nieces daughter(a girl scout

Heartwarming memories, favorite scenes…
Life-changing moments and daily routines…
Sorrows and blessings and joys intertwined…
What a rich legacy Love leaves behind…from a Hallmark
Keepsake Ornament
A dear friend of mine died right before Christmas, he and his
wife of 62 years were still in-love and best friends. The same for
my cousin and her husband, still best friends and in-love after 52
years when he died Christmas Eve. This was hard for me because
my cousin, her husband, my husband and I double-dated and
were good friends.
One reason I bring this up is when I told my Grandkids, who are
16
all teenagers now, about double-dating and what we used to do
for fun they looked at me like I was weird. It seems that love and
dating has changed a-lot and that Valentine’s Day has become
much more glitzy.
I feel that as the saying goes “To have loved and been loved is
the greatest blessing of all” no matter who it is, your spouse,
children, grandchildren, parents, relatives or dear friends.
We bid a fond farewell to Florence Greenberg and welcome Ilse
Ubert to Carlisle Lane.
Heartwarming Happy Birthday Wishes; Mildred Leff2/3, Mariel Funk-2/6, Abraham Lincoln-2/12, Elaine

Loving Anniversary Congratulations; Larry & Bernice Pass2/7, Donald & Rita DeJovine-2/24
The next Carlisle HOA meeting is March 11th 7pm in the
Clubhouse Theater. Everyone is welcome and if you have any
suggestions or questions you can present them in the Open
Forum part of the meeting.
As you can see I don’t have much news this month and the only
way I can get some is if all of you let me know of anything big
or small happening in your lives that you would like to share. I
would love to hear about special Anniversaries and Birthdays and
any Celebrations. Trips of any kind are always fun to hear about.
Anything that you are proud about yourself or a family member
is nice to know. Also of course sadness’s, deaths, illnesses and
injuries so that we can send Good Wishes! I also welcome any
corrections or criticism, that’s the only way I will learn about my
mistakes. I need the information by the 5th of each month or
(preferably) sooner for the next month’s column. Thanks!
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do
good anyway…Mother Teresa.
Please continue to let me know if you will be gone for an extended
period, a month or more so we can get our Waste Management
bill reduced. It also seems like more people are taking advantage
of the “Back Door Service” that they provide where they pick
up and return your cans to the front of your garage door for a fee
of $20.00 a month paid directly by the Homeowner.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves for they shall never
cease to be amused!

through her talent and her vibrant personality.
Although I’ve had wonderful adventures reading the
Great Novels, David Copperfield, Anna Karenina, and
Huckleberry Finn, today I want to praise the mystery or
romance novel. When my life was at its lowest, the wellwritten “whodunit?” took me out of my sadness into
Chandler’s mean LA streets or Christie’s quaint village
paths, for a blessed while. For that, I will always thank
them and bless their writers. I myself have not gotten the
same affect from romances, but I know there are many who
do. For those of you who love the romance, find a book in
the public library called “Reading the Romance.” You’ll
enjoy it.
Our library in the Clubhouse has paperbacks and hardcovers--many, many books in both the romance and
mystery categories to lend—thanks to our volunteers.
They’re also great when your doc’s running late or you’re
waiting for some test or another or just waiting for some
late guests. So, in these cold days, if you need to escape to
some place warmer for a bit, try Hiaasen’s Florida or Jance’s
Arizona. Or warm up with a romance. Go to the library
and pick up a book. You’ll forget February’s “cabin fever.”
And put on some vintage Sinatra while you’re at it.
When listing the volunteers who helped with the Harvest
Saturday Food Drive, Ralph Labus’ name was inadvertently
left out of the list of those who gave their time to help those
in need. Sorry for the oversight, Ralph, you’re one of the
folks who help make Carillon a grand place in which to
live.
Cindy Kolick passed away in December. Who can
forget her singing “Everything’s Comin’ Up Roses”? Or
that soaring voice leading the altos in “The Hallelujah
Chorus”? The stage presence, the 100 watt smile, the
generosity of her performances, all are written indelibly in
our memories. Several years ago, even as she fought the
foe, she remembered a solo from On the 20th Century she
thought would be a good fit for your correspondent. Her
fight against Early Onset Alzheimer’s showed character and
generosity equal to that of her musical experience. Instead
of becoming wrapped in her own loss—who could have
blamed her?—she turned to help others. She pressed fellow
patients to sing, because, as she told me, “You remember
more when you sing.” Those of us in Chelsea will miss her
cheery greeting as she took her constitutionals. As Astaire
sang,” The way your smile just beamed/ The way you sang
ON key (always ON key) . . . Oh, no! They can’t take that
away from me.” Condolences to her husband Alex Mac
Phail, her parents, Nick and Flo Kolick, her Chorus and
Chelsea friends, and all who knew and loved her both
February 2015
We heard with great sadness, of the passing of our friend
Jean Catena. She served our Association with energy and
dedication on the Activities Committee and in so many
other ways. And as B. and I can tell you, she and Bob were
formidable Bridge opponents. Jean will be remembered
for her quick wit, her talent for friendship, and her direct
and honest personality. Those sparkling brown eyes took in
the world and knew, always, the truth. And she didn’t give
an inch to her illness, with a gracious smile and welcome
at both Chelsea Christmas parties. And what a sense of
humor! Our condolences to her husband Bob, another
Chelsea stalwart, her family, and her many friends.
May the spring memories of these two wonderful women
warm us even as winter loss chills us now. We will miss
you both.

I need a friend who’ll listen to my anxiety and trial.
You see, I can’t quite make it through a day just on my
own…
I need your love to guide me, so I’ll never feel alone.
I want to ask you please to keep my family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence for whatever fate
they’re bound.
Give me faith, dear God, to face each hour throughout the
day,
And not to worry over things I can’t change in any way.
I thank you God, for being home and listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice when I stumble and fall..!!!!
Your number, God, is the only one that answers every time.
I never get a busy signal, never had to pay a dime.
So, thank you, God, for listening to my troubles and my
sorrow.
Good night, God, I love you too, and I’ll call again
tomorrow!
P.S. Please bless all my friends and family too.
A new priest, born and raised in Wyoming, comes to serve

he asks the older priest to sit in on his sessions.
The new priest hears a couple of confessions, and then the
old priest asks him to step out of the confessional for a few
suggestions.
The old priest suggests, “Cross your arms over your chest,
and rub your chin with one hand and try saying things like
‘yes, I see,’ and ‘yes, go on,’ and ‘I understand.’
The new priest crosses his arms, rubs his chin with one hand
and repeats all the suggested remarks to the old priest.
The old priest says, “Now, don’t you think that’s a little
better than slapping your knee and saying, “No s--t, what

FEBRUARY. And this is being written on one of the
coldest days in January..so far. February sounds much
friendlier. Holidays are special in this month. We all know
about 2/12..Lincoln’s bithday, and 2/22..Washington’s
birthday, and the most favorite of all 2/14..Valentines Day.
But my toss up is 2/11..Don’t Cry Over Spilt Milk Day or
18
2/16..Do a Grouch a Favor Day. Honestly, these are real....
the internet says so!!

Dorchester social report from Joann Oswald: On
December 5, 2014 the annual Dorchester Christmas Party
was held in Club Carillon. There was a nice crowd in
attendance. A very tasty buffet was served by Inglenook
Caterers. Entertainment was provided by Travis Morris,
a very talented Elvis tribute artist. Chairman of the event
was Carol Davis. Her committee consisted of Barbara
and Sonny Banick and Maureen Rogus with assistance
from Alice and Walt Tapper. Everyone had a nice time.
Gloria Walsh sends a thank you: Many thanks for all
your prayers, cards, well wishes and goodies sent my way
after I fell and broke my hip. They were all very much
appreciated. A special thank you to the gracious lady who
dropped off a huge container of delicious chicken soup.
My granddaughter didn’t get your name and I never get to
thank you. Thank you! Please let me know who you are.
So many thoughtful and kind neighbors surround us in
time of need. We wish Gloria continued progress with her
new hip.
Let’s not forget the regular breakfast times: Ladies--second
Friday of each month at Nikos Breakfast Club (near
Jewel). And Men—second Friday at Larry’s Diner. Good
opportunities to keep in touch during these winter month.

So far it looks like we are not going to have a replay of last
