Market and Barriers
In building construction field, who wants to:
Design
Improve
Retro-fit
Usually has:
•
Inexperience in financing: Bank loans, public schemes, third party financing
•
Lack of awareness of energy efficiency in buildings (general public)
•
No clear ideas about which new interventions are available and their potential savings
•
Lack of appreciation in the green housing – unwilling to spend money
•
Small network of stakeholders, with “old-fashioned” technical knowledge
•
Wrong vision of “Spending less now is better than save money later”

Results
Large market, multiple players
 Re:form, the UMBRELLA tool, offers a unique selling proposition
 The market is big enough to handle multiple players
 Sefaira is by far the biggest threat and they will be watched closely to make
sure we are staying ahead of them.
 Energy Audit Software is the other possible competitor, with respect to how it
will develop, and it will be put on a watch list.
