their 25th Anniversary Gala with the theme of "Unite
To Change" at Three-Sixty
in Tribeca. A pioneer in
adolescent reentry, Friends
was created in 1990 to anchor, support and develop
capacity among young people newly released from jail
in New York City. Friends
uses the period in custody
as an opportunity to intervene and to leverage youth
strengths, resilience and potential by offering opportunities for belonging and achievement. Friends of
Island Academy helps these individuals in becoming economically independent adults, connected to their
