As a Green Power Partner, you can invest in renewable power by
purchasing 100 kilowatt-hour blocks of solar, wind and biomass
energy. Members can purchase as many or as few blocks as you
would like. The total charge for your Green Power allotment is added
to your regular monthly electric bill.
The cost or each block of renewable power is priced at actual
“commodity” pricing. In 2014, green power costs were at $.09/block.
Visit www.unitedpower.com for the updated pricing information as
this price is subject to change.
Your participation in Green Power Partners helps to direct our power
supplier, Tri-State Generation and Transmission, to purchase new,
renewable energy to add to our power mix. United Power’s Green
Power Partners are currently purchasing renewable wind energy
through Tri-State from a variety of sources. 100% of the dollars
invested in this program go toward the purchase of new, renewable
electric power production, such as wind, solar, and biomass, and fund
research and development of emerging renewable technologies.
This program is offered in conjunction with United Power’s wholesale
supplier, Tri-State, which aggregates these small renewable
purchases from 43 other Tri-State cooperatives to keep the costs low
and encourage expanded renewable energy production.
Visit www.unitedpower.com for more information on the Green
Power Partners program, or to sign up.

United Power offers a diverse menu of renewable
energy incentives to help members go green.
Members considering an investment in solar electric,
solar hot water or small wind generators may qualify to
receive renewable energy incentives from United Power.
Plusu, your solar electric or small wind system has the
added benefit of connecting back onto the grid to offset a
portion of your future electric costs.

Program details
Renewable energy incentives are available to United Power members
on select solar energy, solar hot water and small wind energy
generating systems. The budget and rebate amounts are evaluated
each year by the United Power board of directors and rebate dollars
are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Funds are limited.
Renewable incentives for solar electric, solar hot water and small
wind systems are made available to residential and small commercial
customers. Members must contact United Power’s New Energy
Program Coordinator prior to purchasing or installing any renewable
energy system to ensure eligibility and availability of funds.
Solar electric and small wind systems have the added benefit of
allowing members to tie systems back onto the grid and “run their
meter backwards” when they are generating power. United Power’s
net-metering rate has been in effect for nearly 30 years and the rate
compensates members who generate electricity for the energy that is
fed back onto the grid. To participate, the member must sign United
Power’s net-metering/interconnection agreement.
Program details, including status of funds available, rebate
applications and United Power’s net-metering/interconnection
agreement can be found at www.unitedpower.com.
United Power has offered renewable energy incentives to its
members since 2007 as a part of the cooperative’s growing portfolio
of New Energy Options, which promote energy efficiency and
renewable energies.

Operation Round-Up helps your small change
make a big difference in your community.
‘Round-Up’ your monthly electric bill and your small
change will be combined with donations from other
United Power members to help needy individuals and
worthy organizations right here in the United Power
service territory. The average donation is just 50 cents per
month, or about $6 per year.

Program details
Operation Round-Up is a voluntary program in which a member
elects to have their monthly electric bill ‘rounded up’ to the next
whole dollar. The money is used to provide assistance to community
organizations and families. That small change, an average of 50 cents
per month, adds up fast. Since its inception in 1995, Operation
Round-Up has donated over $1 million to individuals, families and
charitable groups in United Power’s service territory.
How Round-Up Works
Say your electric bill for this month is $40.50. When you participate
in Operation Round-Up, your bill will be automatically ‘rounded-up’
to $41. That extra 50 cents, or an average of $6 per year, goes a long
way to help people in your community.
How the Money is Distributed
All Round-Up contributions are administered by a board of local
residents who are members of your community and people
who understand the unique needs in this area. Applications are
considered separately for funding which covers utility expenses,
housing costs and even medical bills. United Power covers all
administrative costs of the program to ensure every donated dollar is
distributed to needy individuals and worthy groups or organizations.
To sign-up for Operation Round-Up check the box on the bottom
of your next bill, call Member Services at 303-637-1300 or sign-up
online at unitedpower.com.

United Power’s Sol Partners™Solar Farm started
the community solar movement in Colorado.
United Power members were the first customers in
Colorado to be offered community solar as a way to
support renewable energy without the upfront cost to
install on-site. Sol Partners™ launched in 2009, offering
members the opportunity to buy-in to a solar program
one panel at a time, and to earn credits for their panel’s
energy generation.

Program details
The Sol Partners™ Cooperative Solar Farm launched in 2009 as
Colorado’s first community solar farm. The program has since been
adopted by cooperatives and investor-owned utilities across the
nation, and the model was the basis for legislation drafted here in
Colorado.
The Sol Partners solar farm is located on United Power’s
headquarters property in Brighton, and members can lease solar
panels for a 25 year period and receive credit for all the power
generated by their panel.
The solar farm was initially constructed with an initial module of 48
panels made possible by a grant from the Governor’s Energy Office.
The project was designed to operate on a grow-as-you-go basis. Full
capacity of the first module allowed for a second module to be added
in 2010.
One of the major advantages of the program is that United Power
builds and maintains the solar farm – the member only pays for the
cost of the panel. United Power assumes all the cost for construction,
maintenance, insurance and permitting.
The program is ideal for members whose homes are not properly
sited for solar installations, for those who rent their homes or office
spaces, or anyone who would like to purchase solar panels but can’t
afford the large investment to install on-site. If you move within
United Power’s service territory, your solar energy goes with you, or
can be donated to an organization served by United Power.
