It is our sincere prayer that the coming this week of the Christ child fills your hearts and homes with abundant blessings of love and peace. In the chaos of the upcoming few days, please try to take a few moments to step back from it all and let Jesus touch your soul with the full meaning of this wonderful mystery about to unfold before us; God becoming one like us so that we could become more like Him! O Lord of hosts, look down from heaven and see; take care of this vine, and protect what your right hand has planted. 80:15-16 Sunday Collection: $10,077.00 Donations for the Week Poor: $35.00 Helping Hands: $16.00 Leo Krahel Alice Deckert Maxwell Alexander James Masucci Louise Lawrence Lilly Morrissey Mary Lynn Muriel Reiss Sandy Wills Little Mackenzie Kathleen Meade Memorials The bread, wine and sanctuary lamp are in memory of Donald Faughnan requested by Family Is there anything more heart melting than the fact of a very young child upon seeing his first Christmas tree? It is that same sense of awe, wonder, and joy that should fill the presence of our Lord in the world. Approach these days with that same child-like spirit. Allow yourself to be enveloped by His love and truly Christmas will be a day to celebrate, not just endure. On a practical note, the schedule for Masses on Christmas Eve and Day is printed in this bulletin. Please take two keep one for yourselves and give one to someone who would benefit from it. Finally, may I beg you, at this giving time of year, to please consider making a truly sacrificial offering to your church in the upcoming Christmas Collection. We are all well aware of how expensive life has gotten, yet so many people are making the same weekly offering that they have been giving for years. Your church also has expenses to meet, so please, do something extra special for your parish this year. God will bless you always for it. Fr. Oplatek is a thin wafer made of flour and water, similar in taste to the hosts that are used for communion during Mass. The Christmas wafer is shared before Wigilia, the Christmas Eve supper. The head of the household usually starts by breaking the wafer with his wife and then continues to share it with everyone at the Wigilia table. Wishes for peace and prosperity are exchanged. If you are interested in purchasing oplatek for your family this Christmas Eve, please notify he Parish Office at 908-687-3327. There may still be some left for purchase. The Cost is $5.00 per pack Page 5 FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is “a gradual process that takes place within the community of the faithful.” The length of time of the process varies according to individual need, experience, readiness and commitment.
