But most importantly it was great to see Maree back at the club trialing and working once again just don’t overdo it Maree. Members it is important to look after our health and your family must come first, so sometimes it gets a bit crazy out there, when we have a member sick or family issues, but that’s the time when we need people to step up and assist where they can, and thanks to a few great people that have stepped up to assist & help has been appreciated. I’m not going to name names here in case I miss someone you all know who you are and as President thank you for your support and assistance. Guys what a great weekend we have just had. 2 Rally O trials on Saturday and 2 Obedience trials Sunday, I must say great team work by you all, even the weather was so kind to us. I must also comment on the continued sponsorship from Albury & Border Kennel Club Inc. Shepparton & District Obedience Dog Club Inc. This was appreciated very much, thank you for your continued support of our club. Thanks also to those that made slices etc. for our canteen again well done I believe our canteen did very well. Thanks also to all the club members for their assistance with stewarding and helping with our trial & to see so many of our newer members working with us on the weekend is just fantastic. To see you all out there working with a smile on your face the friendly atmosphere is what we are about. Great club great teamwork and even better enthusiasm to make it all work. This also includes our Catering staff Office staff and those that assisted that are not even members of our great club. You have all done your club proud as president, thank you. I believe all our judges did a great job over the weekend our grounds were a credit to you all thanks to the Wangaratta Council guys who did get it mowed for us & those that assisted with setting up for the whole weekend, from those little tasks to the bigger ones. This is for you germ conscious folks who worry about cold water to clean. John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded rural area of Saskatchewan After spending a great evening chatting the night away, the next morning John’s grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast, however John noticed a film like substance on his plate and questioned his grandfather ‘Are these plates clean?’ His grandfather replied “ They’re as clean as cold water can get em. Just go ahead and finish your meal sonny!. For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny speck around the edges like bits of dried egg and asked again ‘Are you sure these plates are clean’? Without looking up the old man said “Look I told you before they are as clean as cold water can get em. Now don’t you fret, I don’t want to hear another word about it!. Later that afternoon John was on his way to a nearby town, and as he was leaving his grandfathers dog started to growl, and wouldn’t let him pass. John yelled ‘Grandfather your dog won’t let me get to my car’ Without diverting his eyes from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted. “ COLD WATER, go lay down now, yah hear me!......................Meet Cold Water Submitted by Patricia Looker 7 Some members got together over the Easter Break for some training for The Endurance Test & Retrieving & Field trials. bugger Nearly Ready The Clobber Yeah Yeah! I’ve got it Lets Go Checking the quail paddocks sadly no quail Retrieving was a better option 8 Page 9 Kyeamba Kennel and Training Club held their Agility and Jumping Trial on 26th/27th April 2014, they were blessed with perfect trialling weather and a very nice ground. Wangaratta members, Helen Vernon with Jip, Sharon Allen with Mia, and Julie Rafferty with Jasper competed, while Patricia Looker fairly judged all (no freebies given here). However Patricia generously gave advice to many appreciative trailers just starting out. Although the results do not reflect the good work done by the club handlers and their dogs, they will no doubt be trialling again soon. The usual problems occurred, a rail knocked down, handler lost on course, weavers not completed and dogs just having FUN. Julie with Jasper had the luck this weekend with 2 passes in Novice Jumping plus two 3rd placing in the ring and 2 passes in Novice Agility plus 2nd & 3rd place in the ring, thus gaining their JD and AD titles. Sharon and Helen and their dogs provided lots of fun and amusement when they entered the game “Strategic Pairs”, this to be the first of many such appearances, video provided upon request. This weekend was reportedly an extreme fun weekend, with everyone bunking in the one residence. So come on Wangaratta agility handlers, get with it and have a fun weekend at Wagga Wagga 13 & 14 September for Obedience and Rally O. 9 Page 10 FLYBALL Once again we are asking for expressions for those Interested in doing another 12 week Flyball course with Dianne Costello.
