Nendaz, the land of the bisses
Easy walks along the water’s edge
The footpaths along the bisses, historical irrigation channels, are easy walking itineraries,
offering surprising and magnificent views over the valleys, villlages and mountains. The region
of Nendaz boasts a worldwide unique network with 98 km of hikes, along the 8 bisses. These little
footpaths can be found at between 800 m and 2’200 m in altitude and are accessible from
Spring through to Autumn.

From the Rhone Valley to the glaciers, Nendaz
boasts over 250 km of varied marked footpaths,
adapted to all levels of hiker. Come and visit
unmissable sites, like the Japanese garden, the hamlet
of Verrey, the Cleuson dam or the Larch trees of
Balavaux. The lifts offer numerous possibilities to
reach the summits effortlessly : don’t miss
the Mont-Fort (3330 m), one of the most beautiful
view points in the Alps.

to a network of tracks adapted to all levels of biker
Set out to conquer the 8 km of ice and rocks along the Via Cordata

In July, Nendaz becomes the perfect
stage for Swiss folklore. Come and
discover a wide choice of our country’s
traditions : yodlers, bell ringers, flag

out heart warmimg performances

Nendaz is located in the heart of one
of the biggest ski domains in Europe,
the « 4 Vallées ». With this fantastic situation
Nendaz offers about 400 km of ski runs
and 92 ski lifts. Nendaz’s ski domain, unique
and varied, ranges in altitude from 1’400 m

1700 m in altitude, which guarantee high
quality snow conditions from December
to April. In winter as in summer, the Mont-Fort,
the highest point of the ski domain (3330 m),

winter wonderland at his or her own pace.
The silence is broken only by the sound of your
steps on the snow. On foot, you can take your
time to take in the surrounding scenery

mountains and over the Rhone Valley.
Our marked walking tracks take you from
1300 to 2200 m in altitude. The sun drenched
restaurant terraces and the viewpoints along

The Woodpark in Nendaz brings riders back to the roots of freestyle. On the Jean-Pierre
ski run, this park concept and its unique and original modules built out of wood await
all freestyle lovers to perform their best and most stylish tricks. The enjoyment doesn’t end
there : come and enjoy some fresh air on our outdoor ice-rink, experience moonlight skiing
or why not have great fun rushing down the sledge run.

Children between 18 months and
6 years can be placed for either a
half-day or a full-day in the daycare centre. Nendaz proposes a

Nendaz boasts four doctors, a dentist, two osteopaths, a chemist, a
physiotherapist and other massage
and therapeutic services.

Nendaz Tourisme has a list of
babysitters to look after children
of all ages and for any duration at

A wide choice of books in French,
German and English as well as
around 800 DVDs in several languages are available for parents

of their stay in Nendaz.
Treasure hunts
Several tracks are proposed all year
round. All you need to do is collect
the log books at Nendaz Tourisme,
set off on your adventure and return to the tourist information office
to receive your treasure.

swings, slides, rocking horses,
wendy houses and picnic tables.
The Spa des Bisses also has an
area reserved for children.

All the ski schools in Nendaz offer

8 walks accessible from spring
through to autumn, for you to
discover one of the most picturesque aspect of our region. To
allow you to make even more of
these lovely walks, shuttle buses
are organised to Isérables, Veysonnaz and Siviez.
Sites you must visit
Set out on a visit to the Black Lake
at Tracouet, the Cleuson dam, the
Japanese garden, the Dent de
Nendaz, the village of Isérables and
the Larch trees of Balavaux.
Exceptional views
Different places in and around
Nendaz offer breathtaking views.
For example, the Plan du Fou,
the Dent de Nendaz, the Mont-Fort
and Combatseline which are all
accessible via the lifts. In the
resort, don’t miss the view points
from the TV Antenna and the Crettaux.
Unforgettable experiences
Every Thursday morning in July
and August, you can watch the sun
rise from the top of the Mont-Fort.
During the summer, you can also
witness the sunset from the Plan
du Fou.
Thematic footpaths
Nendaz has designed 4 thematic
footpaths which allow you to discover the region in a different light.
The themes and the regions are
varied, the tracks are both fun and
educational for the whole family’s
enjoyment.
Running
4 trails from Tracouet or Nendaz
are proposed : Sprint (3.8 km),
Cross (7.7 km), Semi-marathon
(21.2 km) and Uphill Nendaz-Tracouet (1000 m, 6 km).
Mountain bike tracks
12 itineraries allow bikers to discover the variety in the surrounding countryside. Beginners, as
well as experienced cyclists, can
find a circuit adapted to their abilities among the 200 km of marked
tracks available. They can make
the most of the lifts equipped for
mountain bike transportation and
set off to discover the region thanks
to the Tour of the Printse and the
Tour of the Mont Fort. Nendaz also
offers circuits recommended for
electric mountain bikes.

« 4 Vallées », more than 400 km
of ski runs and 92 lifts. A varied
and out-standing domain, ranging
from 1350 m to 3330 m in altitude,
adapted to everybody : families,
freeriders, free style skiers, confirmed skiers or beginners. It is
possible to ski right down to the
resort during the entire season.
As the highest point in the ski domain at 3330 m, the Mont Fort is
an area of pristine natural surroundings where freeriders can meet
with powder. Its exceptional panoramic view is also a great excursion
for non-skiers.

A new gallery of 190 m2 dedicated to the culture and heritage of Nendaz, The Nînd’Art, is opening its doors from the
12th of December 2014. Located in the old quarters of Haute-Nendaz, it offers numerous exhibitions and events
throughout the year. A collection of photos, videos and stories are also presented to the general public in our multimedia room. The entrance is free and 4 exhibitions are already planned:
