“Tuck That Shirt In”-- A Music Video by the Students, Parents,
Staff of NYC Intermediate School 109 in Partnership with
The Producers’ Project -- to Premiere at 2006 Tribeca Film Festival
WHAT: World premiere of music video “Tuck That Shirt In” at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival Family Shorts
Program is the story of:
• A New York City public school and its community transformed from “at-risk” to “top-of-the-list”
• Academically aligned Rap, Hip-Hop and media production programs used to build on, celebrate and
demonstrate this success
• Students and parents, principal, teachers and other staff members leading the way
• Students were actively involved in every aspect of the music video from writing and recording the song and
learning the economics of the industry to marketing DVDs and pulling together this publicity.
WHY: As part of their curriculum and to inspire other school children and parents locally and nationally that
anything is possible, when an I.S. 109 student calls to invite you to one of the following screenings and to
encourage you to do an interview, please say yes!
WHO: Principal Shango Blake who stars in the music video and pioneered the program; more than 50 teachers,
75 parents and 250 students who participated in the writing, production, performance and promotion of “Tuck That
Shirt In,” which was aligned with and infused through all academic areas of Jean Nuzzi Intermediate School 109 in
Queens Village, NY.

WHEN and WHERE: “Tuck that Shirt In” (running time: 5 minutes) will be the first of seven shorts in the
two-hour program (including Q&A) that will be screened during the Family Shorts Festival.
